    Q:I think the new code for basement windows are 5.7 in pa. What size jeld wed w2500 casement meet egress. Size options 24.75 x 40.75 or 28.75 x 40.75 or do i need bigger then theses listed.

    A:  Thank you for your inquiry. As neither of these size options are large enough to meet the standard egress of 5.0 square feet for first floor or 5.7 square feet for second floor and above, you would need to select a larger window from our collection.

        A:  These windows have a sill that is slanted downward so the rain will wash away from the window. The sill would be in the incorrect position. We so have awning windows.

          A:  Thank you for your inquiry. First floor must meet a clear opening width of 20 and a clear opening height of 24 and an overall square feet of 5.0. Yes this window meets egress according to our egress calculator which gives it a width of 20.55 x 36.509 and sq ft of 5.2.

            A:  this window does not meet egress. Sq ft os 4.64, must be 5.0 for first floor.

              A:  Egress windows need to be 5.7 square feet in order to let a firefighter with an oxygen tank on,pass thru safely. NewYork code as I know it.

                A:  If the interior says "natural" then it can be stained or painted with whatever product you want to use. Our AuraLast treatment is water based.
