Questions and Answers for IV Organics 3.5 oz. Tree Guard Paint Protection Against Damaging Sunburn Insects and Rodents

A:  YES. The castor, spearmint and peppermint oils all offer rodent (including squirrel) repellent protection.

A:  YES, color can be added to the product; however, we are hoping to bring our other color choices to Home Depot soon! Available colors by IV Organic include: white, brown, green, grey & greige.

A:  Home Depot only offers this in the color white at this time. We hope to bring brown, and other color options to Home Depot soon!

A:  YES-- This product works in two ways to keep lantern flies (and other pests) off your protected plants. First, the oils offer repellent protection. Second, the product contains diatomaceous earth which injures their exoskeletons & shortens their life.

A:  Yes, but why, white reflects sunlight and yellow would attract pests, that would damage the tree and defeat the purpose of the product.

A:  No,

A:  I would say, ' Don't do it !

A:  Don’t think I would mix colors.

A:  If it chips or cracks, it is not the fault of the product, the tree or shrub was probably already severely sun damaged before IV Organics was applied and the wood is cracking, or product was not applied properly.

A:  I worry more about rain, this paint hold up good in wind location. Hope to tell more after winter season.

A:  It doesn't affect citrus leaf miner at all for me. I have lots of leaf miner damage. I just cut that part off (but my trees are mature and can spare the leaves). My organic teachers say just leave them. Glad I never had your caterpillar. I have lots of whitefly though and they aren't at all affected by this product. In fact, I do not use this product as an insect or rodent deterrent. It doesn't work. I use tanglefoot for that, to keep the ants out and hose off the leaves from all the blower dust from my neighbors' mower blower guys.

A:  Yes, this will work against leaf miner, orange dog caterpillar etc on citrus leaves.

A:  No, it would dilute the product to much.

A:  Yes, you can use the Tree Guard Paint Protection with a house end sprayer. The liquid is recommended to be mixed with water to work effectively in various sprayers.
