A: Hi Ella! Different bulbs can be used as long as the new bulbs have the same base and they do not exceed the wattage of the bulbs that come with the fan originally.

A: It's going to be as flush as it can be. Use the smaller rod to make more flush. The kit comes with 2 rods and the standard is what is currently set up. It's easy to change out and make is shorter.

A: I thought it was too as I was replacing a hugger mount. Electrician said no as he was installing it and installed a shorter rod, but still flush mount.
