A:  There's already a clear coat applied - I wouldn't try to add anything else. We've had ours for years - it's very scratch resistant.

A:  Holds up to dogs, but NOT kids!

A:  No. One side is female the other Male. The back has no color

A:  Yes, you can use a Swiffer on this flooring.

A:  That's how we usually cleaned our floors, never used oils, waxes, or any liquids except a little spray cleaner to wipe up a messy spill or greasy spot.

A:  Absolutely you can swifter! You can also steam mop. I use Bona floor cleaner as well. Enjoy!

A:  This wood already has a gloss so it needs no varnish. I clean my with my steamer and/or Bona spray. That’s all it needs!

A:  Thats a good question for the manufacture. The finish is a very, very thin layer of wood on HDF, the solvents in varnish or shellac could penetrate the wood at the seams and cause it to lift from the backing. Even if it that doesn't happen, the surface is not wood and will not accept clear coat like real wood. That being said, you can buy a box and test it. Click together a little section of floor and clear coat it. Do you have a coat closet that you plan to do? Buy one box and do it first, see how it turns out, then come back here and post it so the next guy will know what to expect.

A:  No, this flooring is not waterproof.

A:  No, this product is not water resistant. However, there are other products in the Home Legend product line that is water resistant. For example, LifeProof Terrado Oak Water Resistant 12 mm Laminate Flooring (19.83 sq. ft. / case) Model# HL1310.

A:  No, this is not waterproof like some of the new flooring materials. It does make a beautiful floor and we are very pleased with the results. It takes a bit longer to lay as it is a random look board, 4 different lengths that are laid to give a random look.

A:  No. Water resistant. It is very thin wood and mdf. If you leave standing water too long it will destroy it.

A:  For a bathroom? I don't recommend. Don't use in a wet environment. If it is wet for a long time, I think it will will warp. Ok for occasional spills.

A:  Yes we mop with a damp mop. It dries nicely. We don’t let water just sit on it - not sure what would occur. We’ve only had installed for couple months but so far it has worn nicely

A:  Concrete Subfloor: For floating installation, use 6 mil polyethylene film or other means with equivalent permeability. For direct glue installation, use a moisture barrier if moisture level exceeds requirement (see Concrete Moisture section above). A:  The underlayment is separate and will be different depending on your needs. You may need a vapor barrier or just some padding depending on installation location.

A:  The website seems to just put 1500 sf online at a time so it sells out immediately. If you go to your local store and order they should be able to place the order for you in larger amounts or tell you what is available. They seem to have a separate stock for the store and website. This is what I was told when I ordered. And order the same night you see it available because often it wont be there in the morning.

A:  I have now idea if this product is being discontinued. There are several other similar woods available but matte natural acacia is a great choice and it ranges in color from white to red to black. As far as installation, it is nearly impossible to install with the joint variation required by the instructions if you don't cut several inches off the start of each section and use it at the end. It is fun to install and not a chore or difficult. Overall I would say this is a great product for the price regardless of the kind of wood you order and note the top layer that shows is real wood, just very thin. I will buy and install this product again.

A:  The product is a very popular product selling quickly. There is some stock available for on-line purchase, but I would advise contacting a Home Depot Customer Order Specialist as they may have more information on ordering this product.
