A: This unit can either be wired into your homes electrical system, or use 3 "D" batteries for wireless operations. For a wired installation you will need a 16 Volt AC, 10 Watt or a 16 Volt AC, 15 Watt transformer.
A: I believe it is either 12 or 16 volts that this chime uses.
A: I just purchased and installed this unit over the weekend. My door bell had 2 diadoes with it. I had recentlly installed a new door bell button on the front door, and I dont think I needed a diadode, but I installed it anyway. This unit was easy to install and I am not really mechanically inclined.
A: The diode was in the kit when I purchased it. It was in a bag taped to the plastic covering the unit came in on the underside. In the same bag with the anchors & screws.
A: “Type 1N4003-200V-1A, available at local electrical component supplier” I would try Radio Shack.
A: If you are handy with electronics, identify the diode that you require from the specifications in the manual that came with the manufacturer of the doorbell. I am assuming that you are looking for the diode that crosses the leads on the back of the doorbell button. (you may or may not require this by the way). Then go to Radio Shack or an electronics specialty store armed with the specifications. The sales rep should be able to direct you to the appropriate diode.
A: Hello, on this unit, 2 diodes are supplied. Only 1 is required to be attached to your doorbell button. They are VERY small and are included with the mounting hardware. If you did not recieve yours, you will have to go to the mfg"s. website. There they have a FAQ section, or you can send them an email. Hope this helps.
A: Hi Cat, sorry for your trouble. In every box of this model should be a small plastic bag we call a "hardware pack" that has some screws,wall anchors and 2 diodes. Sometimes these get overlooked in the pack. If you don't them in your pack, please call out technical service group at 1-800-858-8501 and they can take care of your request.
