Love Love Love this doorbell, super fun
I love that you can change it to different sounds. My dogs use to bark like mad every time someone came & rang my doorbell, now they don't even realize the doorbell has been rang. It's made my life a lot quieter. The ring tones are very soothing and it has a wide selection to chose from.

    Yikes! Would not recommend!
It does not come with doorbells - you must purchase them separately ... I have purchased two different kinds, and they do not work when they are attached to the outer wall - I can take them off and hold them outside and they ring. Go figure.

Poor instructions, cheap construction, and nonexistent customer service
I'm having some trouble figuring out the setup, but I haven't spent a lot of time on it yet. That said, it shouldn't be as hard as it is, and the instructions are bad. (For some reference, I've redone several houses, including wiring, and know my way around a toolbox.) That's not my main problem with it, though. The construction is, as someone else mentioned, all plastic. Probably standard these days, but still cheap. One tiny part of my doorbell's cover broke, causing the chime to think the cover isn't on and to say "Replace cover," with all the charm of Herman Munster, instead of ringing the chime. I left two messages in the manufacturer's voicemail system (I couldn't ever reach a person) asking if it's possible to order a replacement cover, and haven't heard a peep back from them. Maybe they'll pay more attention to a bad review. I'll update if I ever hear from them.

    Complications in hard wiring
Got this on clearance to replace existing plain hard wired doorbell. Did not by a transformer because we already had one somewhere in the line. As other reviews state, you need to have a line to the trans connection and one to front (if only using the front doorbell). Here was our: complication: we have an old house which had existing unknown transformer already. We didn't want to crawl around attic so we did trial and error. We also had an extra wire which had a hot feed. We also tried to use it but the bell continuously chimed. When we hooked up two existing transformer wires it only chimed when you held and continued holding down button (or like some people may only get a clunk or chirp) this is probably from a bad transformer or not enough power in transformer. We had to add three D batteries and it works fine (in conjunction with hard wiring)- no remote bell required. Hope this helps people!

        Not as bad as reviewed
The install was easy. Went from Wired to Wireless with using batteries. I did have a problem with the wireless button but found the screw I installed ( did not find screws with Button another return ) appeared to short out the battery connection. replaced the screw with a lower profile head and now it works like a charm. No issues after that. Can not Blame the product or the Returned item for missing parts. If it is opened previously then you better make sure all parts are in the box. Cover is plastic but comes off with out issue and goes on Fine ( Only goes on one way ) Read the instructions first.... And to the person who says there are only 2 offset holes at the bottom to put up the box then you did not look on the back for the molded hanger. set the screw hang the box, tighten down to wall by placeing screw in the on of the offset screw holes. Done and Done

        Horrible Design - Terrible Product
This doorbell should have been top of the line given the high price, but installation is complicated, the cover is cheap and difficult to install. We had it installed by a skillful handyman and it took him a long time to get it working. It runs through batteries constantly and navigating the horrible cover is required to change them every time. DO NOT BUY THIS!

        Cheap quality, poor instructions
We wanted to wire the chime and use the wireless doorbell. Nowhere in the instructions did it state how to wire the chime for this situation. Eventually managed to get it working through trial and error. We connected one of the transformer wires to the diode and then connected the other end of the diode to the FRONT connection. The second transformer wire was connected to the TRANS connection. Got it working, but what a pain!

It's ok if you have some McGyver qualities
Has the replace front cover problem which is why I got it on clearance for 15 dollars but some electrical tape wrapped around the cover piece that presses on the switch fixed that. Installing the diode yourself on the doorbell is a joke when buying a product. It all works but I wouldn't pay above clearance price.

          Very good product so far
I just installed this product yesterday. It was to replace an old door bell that had stopped working. I read on previous reviews about all the problems people had with this unit. All i can say is that IF you follow the directions to the letter, you will not be disappointed with this unit. Just remember, that in order for this unit to function correctly, you must install the supplied diode to the pushbutton outside your door, or this unit will not work correctly.(the diode is VERY small and in a separate plastic bag) The wireing instructions are not the best, but i wired my Red wire to the screw marked "Trans." and my White wire to the screw marked "Front". This unit workes like a charm for me.

          Easy installation, good sound.
I purchased this doorbell a year ago when we remodeled. We went wireless to avoid the cost of a wired installation, picked this model because my wife liked the looks. Easy installation. Volume control and choice of chimes with a good clean sound. If you try to check the chime without the cover it will tell you "Install cover". That is an unnecessary aggravation. After a year we had to replace the D batteries because there was not enough juice to finish the chimes. We must have a neighbor with a new device or doorbell because recently we have had a problem with the doorbell ringing without our button being pushed. I changed the jumper settings from the default to another.

          I would not recommend
I purchased this product because our old door chime had ceased to work. We hooked it up but it failed to work. You have to have it hooked up to select the chime, however you can not access the selection without removing the cover, once you remove the cover, the chime does not work. Really poor design. Failing to change the door chime tune, we were stuck with a christmas chime. But now when someone pushes the door bell button it plays 2-3 notes. It is not loud enough to hear unless standing next to the door chime. It is worthless in my opinion

I love this door bell. Beautiful look. Numerous ringers. Sound quality is great.
Install was effortless and fast. Fits in place of the previous door chime. The finish looks expensive, but the price was a great value.

Danger if you care for your sanity.
What a mistake buying this one. I am returning tomorrow. Needs batteries, the door bell and what a joke to try and set the tune. A waste of my time. I had one 20 years old that worked well for years and finally gave out. It was simple to use. Now 20 years later you need and electrician to install a simple door bell. Do not and I repeat do not buy this one.

            Very Badly Engineered
You must put a diode on the front button (whoever heard of that?). It will not function with an auxilliary buzzer (like one in the basement). The mounting screws are both on the same side making attachment unreliable, I hazard to think how batteries would unbalance the mounting. The cover is difficult to remove or put on. The wall "footprint" is not standard. The directions are not clear. The sound is marginally acceptable.

Electrician's View, "Worst Piece of Scrap I've Ever Seen!"
I bought this at Home Depot and asked electrician to install during home renovation. After a few minutes he asked me if I really wanted it installed. I said yes, why not? His answer was he has never seen such a piece of junk in 30 years of electrical work. The button to select tunes didn't work, the volume didn't work, the entire back case is made of McDonald's toy type plastic. I had him install it against his advice and afterwards it does NOT sound anything like it does in Home Depot. If you push the doorbell it goes 'dink', press it again and it will go, "clunk and then grind and this was installed by a Master electrician! I bought the transformer so I know it is the correct transformer (the electrician verified it also) He felt so bad he refused to charge me for the install. He went on to tell me that Heath/Zenith bells are for the most part all junk but this one is the worst one he ever saw.

            Junk
Bought 2 different versions from this brand - both wouldnt work. Cant set the tune select for some reason. Cover isn't easy to get on or off, and the 2 flimsy screws that hold it to the wall are next to each other on one side - how is this suppose to hold well? The sounds are fake too. Doorbell button needs a resistor in order to play the whole tune - too much additional work needed for something that doesn't even work well or sound good. Returned.

            Does not work.
Do not purchase this product. It is a piece of garbage that does not work. I attempted a wireless install. The remotes worked fine, as evidenced by the fact that the unit would announce "Please install the cover" anytime I pressed one of the buttons. Once the cover is in place however, the unit would sound the doorbell only 1 time for every 10 attempts. and 0 times when the remote was more than 12 inches (not exaggerating) from the unit. Previous reviews have spoken to difficulty with the cover. This does not seem to be the issue here. The instructions for the cover are simple and it was fully secured to the base. No excuses from the cover - this is simple a terrible product that does not function the way it should.

              Works Great!
The item works great. Read directions and install diode across button contacts or will not work. Cover is a little tricky until you learn the method; don't make it harder than it is. Just "put it on" and it will do fine. Selecting tunes is as easy as punching a little button.

              Don't waste your money
Bought it in local Home Depot , I thought it would be worth the money since it had 10 different sounds, took it home my husband had a hard time putting cover on and it doesn't work if the cover isn't exactly on but the worst part is when you push the doorbell it only makes the first note of the song the person will have to hold the doorbell down for it to ring and who does that????Buyer beware
