    Answer This Question

A:  Hi, thank you for your interest in our product. Yes, this transformer will work for your existing Hampton Bay low voltage system. The only thing you have to look for is the wattage rating. To know your wattage needs, just do a sum of the wattage rating of all your light fixtures. The transformer must be rated higher than your wattage needs. This one is rated 300 watts.

      Q:Built in photo eye

      Answer This Question

A:  Hi Doug, thank you for asking. There is no photocell extension or replacement available for this transformer. The transformer is made to be installed outside to be used with the photocell, but it could be installed inside, if you put a black tape covering the photocell and use a timer switch. The transformer sets back automatically to dusk to dawn when it is being shut down. The tape would simulate the night preventing the light to shut off when the switch is ON. You can purchase a timer switch on Home Depot's website. Please note that this usage might shorten the life of your transformer as it won`t be used the way it should be.

A:  If the transformer works when on all you need to do is add an outdoor timer to the transformer and it will act as the timer does in the system, no need to replace the transformer.

                  Answer This Question

A:  This transformer does not have a clock timer. It only comes on at dusk and goes off after the number of hours that are set by the user. So, it will not work if mounted inside.

A:  Hey kew824, As long as the LED's are low voltage as well, then this transformer will work just fine. It never hurts to go over the wattage capacity for your transformer, since that means you can always add more lights in the future without worrying about overloading the system! Joseph
