Works great!!
I got this one to replace an older one that ants had moved into and caused it ti short out. I decided on this one after reading unfavorable reviews on the similar model made by Malibu. I like that this one has the photocell eye built in and not on the end of a long cord. Installation couldn't have been easier. Have had it for a few weeks now. Runs great! Really like the simple controls and the auto dusk to dawn setting.

More Features than Expected
I am impressed, not only with the solid construction, but with all the features that allow me to control when the lights turn on and off.

300 Watt Hapton Transformer
Had auto feature that only allowed to be programmer to come on at dusk rather than specific hours. If weather got cloudy it thought it was dusk.

Hi Tim, thank you for your feedback. Please try to place the transformer in an area that receives more sun exposure during the day. This way, the transformer won't turn On when it's cloudy outside.

Great Transformer.
We had tried 2 other transformers from Lowes and had to return them. When we got this one from Home Depot, we immediately noticed is was sturdier than the others. No problem hooking it up and it works great. It even had a lower price than the other ones.

Less Than One-Year and the Photo Eye Settings No Longer Work
Bought this due to the reviews and the built-in photo sensor feature instead of the corded sensors on the Malibu transformers. Installed it this past spring and it will no longer work except when it's set to the "ON" setting (where it runs 24/7). So tired of having to deal with equipment than just won't last and stand the test of time - especially when that test of time is less than 6 months!!

Nice Product!
Very easy to install. Instructions were easy to understand. Unit is rather heavy and appears to be well made. Photo cell with timer is a nice feature.

Excellent Low Voltage Transformer
I've had this powering my landscape lights for about 3 months from dusk to dawn. Everything has functioned perfectly and it was a snap to install. This is a cost effective solution.

Very pleased so far
I recently mail ordered this product becuse it is hard to find in the stores. It beats hands down the cheaper transformers with plastic housings. Installation was a breeze and so far it works as intended. It is bigger and heavier than expected but this in not a hindrance whatsoever. Time will test its durability.

Great Transformer
This transformer is very well built and works perfectly. It was very easy to install easy to install and the instructions are very clear and easy to understand. I would highly recommend this product. It has more power than I need, but at a good price I would rather have more power if I want to and to my system.

Exactly as described, ease of assembly, directions clear and concise
Received promptly, appearance great for outside use, so very easy to install, instructions very simple to follow. A little heavier than my old one, but love the feature that shows you it is on automatic with a red A.

Worked well when it worked
The unit was easy to set up and worked great for almost two years. Then, last week, it stopped working (warranty is good for a year after purchase). Checked out everything and couldn't find the problem; attached a spare I had and the lights came on just like they were supposed to. Have tried calling customer service line at Hampton Bay and repeatedly get the message that there is "nobody available." I'd call that customer disservice.

Design is not very good. photo cell is within transformer. Should have cell to be mounted outside housing.

Excellent 12V Transformer
This is the second Hampton Bay transformer that I purchased to replace old ones(not Hampton Bay) that had worn out. They are so easy to install and maintain. I've had the first one about 2 years and never touch it, except to change the number of hours the lights are on and I only do that a couple of times a year. I can't wait for my last one to wear out, so that I have all of them Hampton Bay transformers. Easy to order online and no shipping costs. You can only get these online and with free shipping is a great purchase. Home Depot should carry them in their stores as these are FAR superior than the in store transformers.

Very Good Quality Product
This was my first departure from the Malibu/Intermatic family of low-voltage lighting transformers. The wiring hookup totally confounded me and was not clear in instructions, so I had to return to store. I felt like a dummy when they showed me how simple it was. It was then easy to install and has worked like a charm. My only complaint would be that the electric cord was not as long as Customer Service stated on the phone before I ordered it. It was barely long enough to suit the situation - I wish it were longer, so I could hang the unit higher off the ground and have the photocell higher on the shaded wall, but it's OK.

Don't look any further, this one is the best
Easy installation. Rugged and well built. It's a heavy duty transformer and works great on the dusk to dawn setting. Just set it and forget it. We replaced a Malibu transformer and this Hampton Bay is surpassed any other one out there.

Solidly built!
I am replacing a transformer originally purchased at Home Depot for my outdoor lighting. Have to say the quality of this transformer seems to be much better if size and weight have anything to do with it. Only thing I miss about my old transformer is I don't really care for the red LED lights showing through on the display the hours "after dusk" to remain on. Old unit didn't display like this, looks odd at night. Overall very pleased!

Thank you for your review Swensonjuj! You are not the first to be displeased with the display always being ON. I suggest you to put a black tape on the display. We will tell our engineers about this matter and see to change it on our newer models.

Sturdy and works very well
I've had several lo voltage transformers over the years. This is the best one I have had. The photo cell works the best of any I have had.

Great Value, easy to operate
Integrated Day night sensor (other brands are external), easy to program, well built and easy to wire. If the power cord had been longer I would have rated it a 5. Unit is heavy, I used heavier screws for installation.

Works well
Easy to decipher and install. Not that it's a complicated or technical device, but I also appreciate the abbreviated operating instructions affixed to the unit, so that if I ever go to re-set it, I don't have to scour the house to find where I put the instructions! Seems to put out a strong, consistent current which causes the lights to shine bright throughout the strand.

Junk
This was the newest of 3 I use in my yard and I already need to replace it. Isn't more than a year old. Went to the store and they only carry Malibu in stock. Going somewhere else. These are junk.

Very Happy with this transformer! I had gone through three Malibu 120watt transformers that didn't work at my mountain home.
The Hampton Bay transformer is holding up very well in the outdoor-high altitude conditions at my mountain home!

Piece of Junk
This transformer box started to constantly turn my lights on and off in a repeating fashion within one year of its purchase. It apparently cannot be repaired and therefore is useless.

Hi Freddie, thank you for purchasing our product. We noticed that in most of the cases where this issue happen, there is a light source placed near the transformer's photocell, resulting in the light system to flicker On and Off. Often, it is because the light fixture of the circuit is placed too near of the transformer, darkness making the light go On, but when turning On the light, it affects the photocell which then make the lights go Off and so on. Please verify if this is the case by putting a black tape over the photocell (on the left of the digital controller) or making sure there's no other light source nearby the transformer.

I was using a similar transformer to this one but it ended up shorting out. If this one does NOT short out, it will meet all my expectations.
