Q:Does this come with a cap if you do not want the lights

A:  Thank you for your question. The fan does no include a cap for installation without the light kit. A cap can be ordered by calling Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678).

        A:  Thank you for your question. In general, we do not recommend installing a universal remote in hugger style fans like this one because there is not a dedicated space in the mounting bracket /motor housing to hold the remote receiver.

            A:  Thank you for your question. The fan is controlled by the pull chains. One chain controls the fan speed, the other controls the light. A switch is not required. Please note that if you do install with a wall control switch, the fan's pull chains must be set to high speed (1 pull) and the light set to on using the pull chains prior to using the wall control.

              A:  Thank you for your question. The base color of the shades is beige. The light shades each have a unique marbling to create a beautiful pattern on the shades. The actual color of the shades can be affected by the color temperature of the bulbs being used. If warm white bulbs are used, the shade appearance will be more yellow. If daylight bulbs are used, the appearance will trend more towards white.

                            Q:Can you control the fan speed with a Lutron Caseta fan controller and the lighting with a Lutron Caseta dimmer? I already have 12/3 wiring ran from the switch box to the ceiling. Thanks for any help.

                            A:  Thank you for your question. Yes, the fan has has separate wires for fan speed power (black) and light power (blue) to enable it to be connected to separate switches. Please note that before using the switches, the fan's speed must be set to high using the pull chain (1 pull) and the light set to on using the pull chain (3 pulls).
