Answer This Question
A: I've only used mine on 870 watt window AC. Cord is rated for 1875 watts. I would feel ends of cord while heater is test run to see if they are hot to the touch.

Q:Is this cord safe for me window unit

Answer This Question
A: Depends on the BTU and required voltage of the AC unit. Typically, about 18000 BTU is the max.

A: It depends on what you are using it for. Some window units are pretty heavy duty in how many amps they draw but that info is on the unit. The 14 gauge wire may be too small and a 12 gauge extension cord might be better and safer. Also 20 feet is awfully long for a window unit extension cord.

A: Disclaimer I am not an electrician. You can use this but use as short of a cord as possible. If you only need 8' buy and 8'. Also, look up the AC manufacturer and call their help desk to make sure if it will not stress start-up.

A: It depends on the amperage of the freezer, but this cord is rated for 1875 watts which is more than what most freezers draw.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Yes this would be great for that.
by|May 5, 2023
A: As long as the freezer is rated 15 amps or less
by|Feb 6, 2019
A: The cord is rated for 15 amps or 1875 Watts which far exceeds the requirements of a typical freezer; however you should check the nameplate on your freezer to confirm.

A: This cord is rated 1875 watts. I used it on my 1800 watt toaster oven.
It's now on my swamp cooler, as I needed a shorter cord than the one I got for it.
It say Major appliance cord on the package. That includes washers, dryers, etc.
As long as you stay within the ratings on the package.

A: This extension cord is certainly more "heavy duty" than a normal extension cord seems to be. I purchased it to use with my full size 1250 watt Panasonic microwave oven and I've had no problems. The wire thickness (gauge) is greater than a standard cord. I would not have any concerns using this for a washing machine.

A: Probably. As long as it's rated 15 amps or less.

A: It says max watts us 1875 so I don't know why it wouldn't support a 1500 watt toaster! I'm not an electrician so don't hold me to that, I used mine to hook up outdoor christmas reindeer that were close together and got tired of longer cords! They worked perfect for that! It said u could use outdoors because it's heavy enough and very durable so that's were I used them w of course lots of electrical tape!

Q:Looking for a cord to use with my older washer. All of my circuits/breakers are 20 amp each. I read that I should use a cord rated the same as the circuit/breaker the cord will be plugged in to. Does that mean I cannot use this cord, rated at 15 amps, on a 20 amp circuit?

Answer This Question
A: You should use an extension cord rated for the amount of power that the device you're plugging in will use. If your washer draws 15 amps or less it should be fine. For example, you wouldn't need a 20 amp extension for a 100 watt light bulb which draws about .8 amps. There should be a face plate somewhere on the washer which indicates the power requirements. A quick search on the internet seems to indicate that washing machines generally use less than 15 amps. I've seen numbers in the range of 10 to 12.5 amps.

A: Use this cord only with 15 amp.
by|May 14, 2020
A: It is not suggested because of the rating to use it. Try and find a 20 amp cord. Indoor Outdoor cords at 20 amp can work.
