A: It attaches with screws then a cover plate to finish the look. You just have to have the right screws based on the material you are attaching to. I made sure my bar was attached to studs behind the wall board. If it’s concrete or brick you will need different hardware.

Answer This Question
A: This product does not come with plastic anchors. Since these safety bars may have to handle the full weight of a person in a fall, I suggest you use Toggle Bolt and Wing Nut Anchors, which have a much higher load limit!

A: No! Norma;ry you would screw through the plaster into the supporting two by fours. You need something that will catch the back of the plaster board. Check out the Molly bolt Model# MP10533

A: It is NOT recommended to install this ADA grab-bar using mollies. AT LEAST ONE end of the bar should be secured on a stud using the stainless screws supplied.

A: Not when I purchased it. Check the description carefully.

Q:Can I use just one screw each end if they are solid into wood backing? It seems that should be plenty, as even robust shower poles often have that. (I don't like making so many holes in my tile shower.)

A: I woukldn't really recommend, in order to support the weight of someone using it to stand/sit/pull up, should be installed in studs, not drywall with plastic anchors.

Answer This Question
A: Thank you. you can either install it at an angle or you can purchase a stud-less installation kit and use that on one the side that is not going into a stud.

A: If both ends of your grab bar aren't on a stud, which the probably aren't, you have two choices. First, you can open up the wall and install backing to suit. Second, you can purchase wing-its wall anchors and mount your bar with those. Last time I checked, the wing-its are ADA approved and will support 300 plus pounds when installed correctly and in the right wall covering. They are available at Home Depot.

A: you try and locate a stud , if not possible then you have to use a special anchor to to attach to wall , it would reqiure drilling a half inch hole or larger to install the anchor, they make anchors for that purpose

A: You will only be able to attach it to one stud. The other end you would have to use the included wall hardware to attach the other end.

A: We have used these in several bath / shower builds, either we would put the 24 inch bars at an angle between studs so mounting plate connected to two different studs or straight up and down on one stud.
When we were walling in the full tub or shower we would put in cross members between studs, mark the wall going in so we could secure the plates on a stud and cross member.
All of the options listed provide a solid and secure bar for the users.
