Q:Does this GE front load washer door have a magnet feature to keep it ajar during washers to preve...

Answer This Question

A:  Hi boltlady1- Thanks for viewing! While the door will stay ajar when opened (for ease of loading and unloading), the Tub Clean cycle should be performed, at a minimum, once per month to clean the interior of the washer. After the cycle is complete, leave the door open slightly for better ventilation. Q:Water filter

    Answer This Question

A:  Hi er87- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thank for your interest! Our frontload washers do not feature a filter like the GE Profile refrigerators. Due to the nature of the front-load washer, it is sometimes possible for small articles to pass to the pump. The washer has a pump filter to capture lost items so they are not dumped to the drain. To retrieve lost items, check and clean out the pump filter periodically. For complete details, see page 15 of the washer Owner's Manual at this link: http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/1f/1fb27948-b0c0-4632-b721-990b60f693eb.pdf - Thanks for checking with us!

A:  Hello chicagosky - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. Hard water will not harm the washer, but you may experience some limestone build-up, depending upon the hardness of your water. Limestone, technically called calcium carbonate, is caused by a reaction between the calcium in hard water and the sodium carbonate in detergent. To reduce a limestone build-up in your washer, we recommend using liquid detergent and install a water softener. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

Q:How does the washer dry cycle work

            Answer This Question

A:  Hello Carnen - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. The overnight dry cycle is intended for smaller loads only. It is intended for use when clothes need to be washed, dried and ready to wear or finished the next morning. This feature will tumble clothes and introduce a constant stream of air into the machine compartment upon completion of select wash cycles. The default is 8 hours max dry time. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

Q:Does this washer have the (Deep Fill option) when washer is filling to wash clothes?

              Answer This Question

A:  Hi pickymomma51- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for viewing our Front Load Washers! The washer does not feature Deep Fill option. This is a feature offered on select Top Load Washers. This washer features Load-Sensing Adaptive Fill. This allows the washer to determine the optimum water required to wash the items in the basket. Since frontload washers do not require the tub to fill with water like topload washers, significantly less water is required to thoroughly wash and rinse each load. Except for certain cycles like Handwash and Basket Clean that use more water, you will not see a visible water line on the door glass. Thanks for checking with us!

A:  Hi Lemarnel, I am sorry for your inconvenience. If you haven't done so already, please check the following: * Push and pull on the back right and then back left of your washer to check if it is level. If the washer is uneven, adjust the rubber leveling legs so they are all firmly touching the floor and locked in place. * Check the Pump Filter. See instructions in the Owner's Manual. http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/1f/1fb27948-b0c0-4632-b721-990b60f693eb.pdf If you continue to experience an issue, please contact GE Factory Service at 800.432.2737. Thank you for checking with us.
