A: No, you cannot use it inside of a pipe. It is made to be used on the outside of charged waterlines. That is the only place that it will work.

A: Probably…. But why? Behind drywall you should insulate and seal it up. This would require some access? Behind drywall in an insulated room you would never get cold enough to turn it on?

A: No product that plugs into an outlet should ever be placed behind drywall as it could become a fire hazard. So to answer your question, NO, do not place behind drywall.

A: Yes as long as you use either 10 or 12 gauge grounded heavy duty (normally outdoor extension cord). The longest should be any longer than 25 feet.

Q:Is there a chart that has the diameter of the pipe vs length so I know how tight to wrap it and it will prevent from freezing at 32deg, 25deg etc.? It usually comes with the product. Not sure what length I need. -Thanks

A: We made it easy. The cable runs parallel to the pipe and does not wrap around the pipe. It has an automatic thermostat to keep pipe from freezing. attach to the pipe with electrical tape, duct tape, or zip ties.
