A: It is not fireproof. You overwrap the heat cable (not the thermostat) to allow the cable to distribute heat more evenly.

A: This will not handle the heat from the exhaust pipe. You need a high temperature fiberglass such as you would find for fireplace inserts.

A: Fiberglass does not react well to water and even though it is self-sealing, it is not 100% moisture proof if used outdoors. We do not recommend using it where it it is exposed to moisture such as rain and snow.

Q:My rear exit vent if my electric dryer is attached to a 8 foot pipe to the roof.I wrapped the fiberglass wrap and I?m getting a weird smell is this normal and if it is will it go away ? I also finished the job by using hvac silver foil tape .
