A: For decorating we cannot give you an opinion. we can tell you that vinyl covering looks pretty good. As for insulating the pipe, the fiberglass will do a great job.

A: This is a vinyl covering, not paper and the heat generated from the water heater will not reach it's flash point. This Pipe insulation is made especially for high temperature steam pipes.
