Q:If this machine is dc why is the engine ac?

Answer This Question
A: well, technically, this welder does not have an engine. it*s a required box, that you need to fill-in, when listing a welder on homedepot site. and they use same, general form for quite a broad variety of different welders, including generator-welder combos, which do have an engine. since the real reason for the box is hard to grasp right away, most listers assume they just need a *power source type*, so they put *AC*, because that*s what*s in our wall outlets.

A: all your incoming current is ac. this unit uses an inverter to change it to dc,much like the old transformer welders

Q:Can I cancel the order

Answer This Question
A: sure, i don*t see why not. you need to contact homedepot customer service for that. the transaction between you, the customer, and homedepot, is out-of-our hands. it*s all handled on their platform. they just tell us which welder to send to whom, after the order goes through. however, if you experience any issues with the welder itself, or just need some technical support, then it*s the other way around. you should contact everlast customer support, because homedepot does not have any expertise in our welders. they are just providing the platform, for you to receive our welder.

A: you are required to ship it back to Everlast , which can cost an arm and a leg these days, they only cover shipping in first 30 days and only if faulty..... after that you are paying all shipping costs and that can be a lot. Also they can decide to simply refund your money minus shipping and depreciation if they so choose.
I priced shipping to everlast from my home and it was over 180 dollars return. And i am not at that far WA to CA.....
