Answer This Question

A:  Though the Everbilt Oil-Rubbed Bronze Handrail Bracket may look black in the image, it is oil-rubbed bronze. Our oil-rubbed bronze finish is a darker oil-rubbed bronze finish. Q:Will these work for 1 3/4 inch round rail?

    Answer This Question

A:  The Everbilt Oil Rubbed Bronze Handrail Bracket will work with a 1-3/4 round rail.

A:  Don’t see an issue. My rail is flat on the bottom so it is easy to attach. However don’t see how a round rail would have an issue.

      by|Feb 10, 2022

A:  Kind of. Not the greatest answer. Let me explain. The bracket that screws to the rail is 1/2” wide with the two screw holes running along the rail length. So, the two screws that attach the bracket to the rail can be installed, with the bracket sitting tangentially on the rail. Although secured sufficiently, there will be a gap at both edges of the bracket. That gap could lessen the stability of the rail to the bracket, if the rail were to be twisted about it’s circumference. To insure a proper fit, the rail could be shaved/planed to provide a flat surface for mounting the bracket. Example: draw a circle of 1 3/4” diameter, then draw a 1/2” long line tangent to the circle, with the center of the line just touching the circle. Note the gap between the line and circle at each end of the line. That is the gap mentioned above.

A:  The bottom piece is made to lie on the wood and screw two screws into the railing. I believe that it will be fine on a round railing.

Q:What is value of the dimension usually referred to as "CP" - the distance from the wall to the centerline of the handrail? (I'm replacing corroded ones and because of two turns the rail takes, I can only use a CP = 2.75 inches.

Q:I'm replacing old brackets and need to know the distance between the screws. On my old ones, the distance between the top 2 wall screws (center to center) is 1". Top screw to bottom screw is 2". Would this bracket work? TIA

              Answer This Question

A:  I just measured it at 7/8" center to center between top screws, 1 3/4" center to center top to bottom.

A:  For this Handrail Bracket the distance between the top 2 wall screws (center to center) is 0.79" and top screw to bottom screw is 1.57". This bracket appears to be smaller than your old bracket so new holes would need to be drilled.

Q:How much space would this give the handrail from the wall?

                Answer This Question

A:  The spacing would depend on the dimensions of the handrail. On a 1-3/4 inch handrail, there is 1-1/2 inches of clearance remaining between the wall and the handrail after installation.

                  Answer This Question

A:  Install the handrail bracket into wall stud using #10x1-1/2” screws (3pcs) and secure handrail using #10x1” (2pcs). For toggle bolt we suggest to using 3/16” and length base drywall thickness.
