Answer This Question
A: The thermo-treated wood generally don't need acclimatization. Anyway for best performance in outdoor applications it might be useful. In high humidity moisture climate or if significant difference of moisture in nighttime and daytime we may recommend to keep wood under weight a couple of days outdoors. Also, to protect wood we recommend to cover it with clear water sealant (any one for wood decks or fences) for additional stability.
Please consider the following: thermo-treated wood has 5-10 times reduced moisture related movements compared to non-treated wood, but it is still wood (not plastic or stone) and some boards might experience some move (significantly less than non-treated wood).

Q:Guide - now we are in the hole $100 because the 16 gauge nails you sent are not working in it - can y’all send us 16 gauge nails?

Answer This Question
A: We may send you both # 16 and # 18 nails. For your outdoor application better to use separate finishing nails and hammer which provides the better holding power (or the nail gun should be adjusted to not send nails too deep inside of the wood). To get nails separated from our supply use utility knife. We may also send you separated finishing nails too.

A: The 16 gage nails are enclosed in each box. Also, the gun is not extremely necessary as you may chip the nails and use hammer. The installation instruction shows the detail.

Q:Jams. What size nail did y’all send? Is it possible they are thicker than 18 gauge?

Answer This Question
A: Yes, you're right - we're switching to 16 gauge nails as they are stronger, especially if to use them with a hammer. The most of 18 gage tools should accept 16 gauge too, but better to use the tool for # 16. We'll fix this in the Instruction. Thank you.

Answer This Question
A: As they are. Apparently, unlike some of their competitor's products, these panels have been pre-treated (not detectable to the naked eye) to allow them to be used in environments with moisture.

A: The planks designed to use as they are. Wood is therm-treated and pure (no bacteria and insects in this wood). You may use any finish if you prefer to, but it is no necessary.
