Answer This Question
A: For Easy planks (which are 3/16" thick) we not recommend to use nails. Nevertheless, you may use them with caution to place them at no less than 1" from each side and 2" from the ends, and for better result pre-drill holes to avoid splitting. Better use adhesive or double-sided adhesive foam sticks (included in each pack).

A: I used a brad nailer and simply face nailed them. However, some will split. Some panels are very stable while others will break when you simply look at them.

A: Thermo-treatment makes wood usable for outdoors as it will not decay. To keep the wood performance, especially against fading under sunlight, we recommend to use wood protectors as outdoor oil. Also, as planks are thin they are not substituting siding and we recommend for outdoor applications to use planks under roof.

Q:Would this work outside?
by|Feb 17, 2017

Answer This Question
A: Yes, we make our tiles from thermo-treated wood, which is naturally durable for outdoor applications. As thermo-treated wood is a natural wood it will be slow fading under direct sunlight and turning to gray color. If you want to keep the original color you may spray tiles with any outdoor wood oil with UV protection.

Q:Considering making a media cabinet, does this splinter? Is there any warp to the board or can I get a flat surface?

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your question.
The wood is thermo-treated, which means it is absolutely stable in sizes, doesn't shrink and swell, not moving, warping or cupping.
The planks are flat and keep shape very good as we do them thick (7/16"). Regarding splinters, as the wood designed to have some deep cracks, it has a 3D structure, but all boards are passing wire brushing, so they are not creating any splinters.
To be even more save regarding splinters you may pick a Whole Wood design (product # 300606337 - put in the Search Bar) - these boards are thermo-treated, wire brushed and not having cracks.
The density of thermo-treated wood is about 30% less than non-treated wood and the moisture content is just about 2% - it is perfect for any acoustical applications.
