A:  Yes can easily be replaced with new longer chain. They are sold on the website. I replaced the pull with a nicer one from Home Depot.

A:  The chain goes down just past the light and then there is a connector that has a long string. You can take the string connector off and attach your own extension chain, use a wire cutter to shorten it to desired length, then finish it off with whatever end knob you would like.

A:  yes, by adding extension chain, and you can add your own decorative pull chain knob.

A:  Asked this in 2017. Lol Just today got an email approving the question. As I already purchased it i will answer my own question. It is a 4" neck.

A:  I do know what you mean for fitter; but i guess you want to say the metal base that goes attached to the celling. It is 5 inches diameter

A:  The base of the globe, where it clamps into the fixture, measures 3 1/4" across.

A:  The base is 5''.

A:  A 3 1/4" globe fits into the fixture; and it measures 4 3 /4" across the face that rests against the ceiling.

A:  Ceiling side is 4 3/4" , globe side fits a globe with 3 1/4" lip.

A:  A 3 1/4" globe fits this fixture and measures 4 3 /4" at the face that sits against the ceiling.

A:  It is light metal, not heavy duty metal. Light glass also, it is not crystal glass.

A:  As with all fixtures of this type, the base is stamped sheet metal,not solid bronze. The globe makes up most of the weight.
