A:  If I remember correctly, yes.

A:  I took the globe off and measured it across the opening. The globe has a lip that measures 3 1/4". The base is slightly larger to allow the globe to fit inside.

A:  The rim on the globe measures 3 1/4" and fits inside.

A:  I measured the inside diameter (where the glass fits into) with my handy dandy calipers to be 87mm or 3.4252 in.
