Q:Is this sturdy enough that you can step on it?
Our vent is near a door and it is not uncommon for one of us to accidentally step on it. We had a metallic register but it is already bent inward after being stepped on.
Or could use suggestions on a sturdy 14x6 vent register. Thanks!

Answer This Question
A: No. You should buy a steel floor register. However, if it's placed at an outside door, there is a greater chance of rusting because it may be exposed to the elements. If it does get wet, then you should dry it with a soft cloth to prevent rusting.

A: This wall register has a plastic damper box, which is nailed to the wood register. The Home Depot also carries an unfinished 6 in. x 14 in. Wood Oak Cold Air Return, if it's a cold air return that you need.
