Q:Will this remove moen cartridge 3375 in the diverter # 162154 ?

Answer This Question

A:  Yes, it should work. I've used on sink faucets and shower handle type controllers. Take your time with it. The cartridges get jammed in there sometimes and difficult to pull out. It does not work on a roman bathtub type faucet though. Keep the package in mint condition and if it doesn't work, you can return it.

Q:Will this work on Mixet cartridge Mxt07

          Answer This Question

A:  I am not able to answer this question definitively since I have no experience with Mixet cartridge MXT07. I have looked closely at Home Depot pictures of the MXT07 and compared them to my Moen model #1225 cartridge, but I was not able to get accurate dimensions for the MXT07. If the thread in the MXT07 cartridge stem is different than the thread in the Moen cartridge stem, then the DANCO Cartridge Puller for MOEN will not work. Likewise, if the diameter of the MXT07 cartridge is significantly greater than the diameter of the Moen cartridge, then the DANCO Cartridge Puller for MOEN will not work. My apology that this is not a better answer.

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. Generally the Mixet valves do not require a puller. However if the screw hole is for a 10-24 screw it can possibly work. We would recommend using some CLR, Limeaway or Vinegar and let it soak to remove the mineral build up then try pulling the cartridge

A:  Using this tool to remove stem / shower value made the job easy as pie! Removed the old stem in a minute and didn’t need a plumber! The tool paid for itself in one job.

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. Yes you can use this puller for the Moen 1224 cartridge. However most of the time the 1224 does not require a puller. It may be stuck due to mineral deposits, we suggested putting some Vinegar in and around the cartridge let it sit for 10 minutes and then using a pair of pliers to remove.

A:  I would suggest using vice grips, twisting and pulling. It will not be easy, but keep trying and eventually you see the cartridge start to separate from the valve and you will know you are wining. Good Luck

A:  I had this happen to me. Unfortunately, when the handle stem breaks off, the tool will not be able to grip the cartridge tight enough to be able to pull that cartridge out. If there is any mineral deposits that cement the cartridge into mixer valve housing it will be almost impossible. I ended up using a large drill to ream our the cartridge, but the plastic casing was still stuck to the mixer valve housing. I then had to use a hair dryer to warm up the plastic casing enough to soften it and use a screwdriver to remove the remaining plastic. Most pro plumbers have a tap drill setup to handle this situation. In any case be careful not to damage the soft brass metal of the mixer valve, which can cause leaks even with a new cartridge installed. Replacing a mixer valve is much more expensive that replacing a cartridge valve. Don't wait to install new ones, because once they get past 15 years after installation, they are probably going to be totally cemented into the mixer valve, and its going to be a much harder job and possibly pretty expensive if you have to hire a plumber to do it. I highly recommend using the brass metal cartridge valves. I installed 2 different plastic valves and both leaked after installation. I also recommend OEM Moen valves for this installation. There are some good videos on youtube explaining the extraction and installation process.

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products. According to what you are saying the screw hole is blocked from the broken screw. The puller needs to go into the hole that is blocked, it would require you to drill it out and a cartridge puller would not help.
