A:  No. You want to get wire with insulation jacket that is Gasoline and Oil resistant. It will be printed on the wire insulation along with the AWG wire size. Look at the photo I uploaded and see that the wire is labeled.

    A:  As always it is advised to reach out to your local inspector. Our 12,14 and 16 Landscape Cable is sunlight and UV resistant and suitable for direct burial for use at temperatures between -20°C and 60°C.

        Q:Grass yard? Anyone have experience burying the 12/2 low voltage wire within / under a grass yard? I was thinking of digging a shallow 1ft. deep trench from my shed (electricity source and place for my Transformer) to new spotlights. Any feedback on that?

You will need to consult a local resource in your area (electrician, inspector, etc) or research online for the proper installation practice to ensure compliance.

          Q:Hi there, We have to replace 5 pagoda lights and 5 well lights. They aren't lead. The transformer is 300W capacity, the pagodas are 20Vx5 and the well ones are 35V x 5. What is the wire gauge to use? The ones now are12 but lights aren't working properly

          A:  We cannot advise on equipment or diagnostic concerns on others’ products. Based on the figures the 12g cable should be adequate but as to why it isn’t working, we cannot determine or suggest root causes for.

            A:  12-gauge is a larger conductor with a higher strand count, and subsequently capable of handling a higher ampacity. 16-AWG has 26 Strands and a Max Ampacity of 13. 12-AWG has 65 Strands and a Max Ampacity of 20.

              A:  Yes, the Cerrowire Landscape Wire is rated to 150-Volt, so installing those as specified by code should be fine.

                A:  Only if the lights are powered using Low Voltage (12 to 15 Volt) power supply. This 12/2 can also be buried without conduit but should be inside conduit when exiting the soil into the transformer. If the lights use line voltage (110V) then no!
