A: The ‘quick clip’ connector is one of the least intrusive. Not really, this connector utilizes a sharp, pointed conductor (one for each wire) that pierces the wire and locks into place. The insulator of the wire ‘seals’ itself around the connector points and makes it virtually water proof.
My suggestion for any ‘wet’ area wiring even low voltage wiring is to wrap he connector with rubber electrical tape. This tape has adhesive properties so you only need wap it once .

Answer This Question
A: You don't need to put the landscape wire in pvc piping unless you are constantly digging in the area where you have placed your landscape lighting. If you should cut the landscape wire you will not be harmed due to the low voltage in the wiring. Not sure what you mean about blocks. If you are covering the wire with blocks you will not need to use pvc piping.

A: If the blocks are hollow then sure you can run the cable through or drill holes in them to properly run it. If the blocks haven’t been placed yet then just bury the cable under paver base or whatever base material you are using. In that case you do not have to run it through a PVC.
But if budget and time allows it then PVC sure adds more life and protection.

A: You can bury the bare wire in the ground but do not bury the connections unless you waterproof them. I prefer to lay the wire just under mulch. It keeps the connections above ground and makes it easier to find the next time you want to plant.
