        Answer This Question

A:  Home Depot lists the 64 SF and 100 SF kits. A 20X20 room is 400 SF. Pretty clear you would need 4 - 100 SF kits.

        by|May 3, 2020

A:  Thank you for your interest in our products! Our 64 sq. ft. White Surface Mount Ceiling Grid kit provides coverage for a typical 8x8 foot room. If your room measures 20x20 you have approximately 400 sq. ft. of project area to cover. We recommend purchasing a 10% overage for any project needs. If you have additional questions, please feel free to reach out to our customer care team at 800.434.3750 with any additional questions you may have. Thank you!

          by|Apr 28, 2020

A:  400/64=6.25 (so 7 kits). If you’re having trouble w that part you should probably pay someone to install for you. There are measurements and cutting required....

            by|Apr 27, 2020

A:  At least 7 based on the square footage of a 64sq. ft. kit. You can always return what you do not open/use. You may get 8 to be safe. You will have some waist.

A:  Thank you for your interest in our CeilingMAX 100 sq. ft. Ceiling Grid Kit. Our CeilingMAX grid is directly mounted to a floor joist or substrate, the top hanger component of the system is screwed directly up. Depending on what you currently have installed, our system may be able to be attached over your existing ceiling. Please feel free to see our installation instructions on our product page for additional step by step instructions on how to apply the system. Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your great question! Yes, our CeilingMAX Ceiling Grid Kit can be used with a revealed edge tile. If you are starting your room installation with a full, revealed edge panel you may need to purchase some additional 25" cross tees as our tees included in the kit may not be long enough to accommodate your first row of tiles. However, for all subsequent rows of installation, the kit will work fine for you. If you have any additional product or installation questions please feel free to reach out to our customer care team at 800.434.3750. Thanks again!

Q:How do you install around basement bulkheads such as beams or HVAC ducts?

                    Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in our CeilingMAX White Surface Mount Ceiling Grid Kit. When installing around duct work or additional jut outs of a ceiling installation, we recommend boxing out the area prior to using our system. You can then use additional wall brackets and treat the area as a perimeter. Please see the "installation tips" in the bottom right corner of out installation guide for more information. If you have any additional questions, please feel free tor each out to our customer care team at 800.434.3750. Thanks again!

A:  My basement has big beams which are part of the old-house charm, so I don't cover them. However, there are various ducts, etc. that certainly aren't so charming. For those that intrude in to the ceiling space, I have simply "boxed" around them with sheetrock so they are covered, then install the CeilingMax right up to those boxes as I would any other walls. This definitely leads to some non-square ceiling areas, but ultimately looks nice and still gets the acoustic-damping and insulating benefits of being able to use ceiling tiles for the majority of the ceiling area.

Q:Ceilingmax works on flat, level ceiling joist edges, but will Ceilingmax work on sloped roof joists of about 10-12 degrees, in a room about 12 foot by 10 foot?

                        Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in our CeilingMAX system. Our system is recommended to be used on a stable, flat type of ceiling installation. You can install the grid system on a sloped surface but it is a very difficult installation, as the wall brackets will be exposed and not flush to your substrate as well as if the ceiling comes to a point or vault it may cause some issues with securing your tiles. We would probably not recommend this grid for that particular type of installation. Please feel free to reach out to our customer care team at 800.434.3750. Thank you!

A:  It attaches to any joists as long as all joist are in line. Not a drop and much easier to install.

A:  Yes this stuff is flexible but the ceiling tiles used are not flexible.

                            by|Feb 7, 2020

A:  It should definitely adhere to the slope just fine. Not sure how it would look if you had any transitions from flat to sloped though. Right at the transition point. I don't believe the company makes a sloped or angled transition. You may need to use a differant kind of trim piece at said transition.

A:  Thank you for your interest in our CeilingMAX 100 sq. ft. Ceiling Grid Kit Black. Our panels can support 12 lbs per lineal ft, so your stained glass panels shouldn't be an issue to install in our system. Our grid system does only drop 1 1/8" in total, so just keep in mind with coordinating your tiles thickness and installation/removal. A:  No. These are intended to mount to a hard ceiling or joists.

A:  This may be difficult to do because when installing you will need a firm surface behind the base strip when you snap in the outside locking strip that holds the tile. Most drop ceilings are floating by wire and have no firm backing.
