Q:Does this work with 1/2" drywall, 5/8" drywall, both? It was not flush when I tried with 5/8".

Q:I've had drywall bulge out over the tab. Was I supposed to notch out the stud under the tab, so that it sits flush?

A: The bracket is set back for 3/8" and you should not have to remove any material to make this work. Also, you please try to add the sheet rock screws not in the bracket area.

A: If by Romex cabling you mean 12/2 or 14/2 sheathed electrical wire then, yes it will.

A: Just about whatever size you may have would work. However, a #6 screw is the smallest I would use. The length, again, is what you might have sitting around as long as they are no shorter than 3/4", ones a little longer would be better.
