The Bruce Plano 3/4″ Solid Maple Strip (AHS4010) and the Bruce American Originals Color Collection 3/4″ Solid Strip (SHD2710) may share similar visuals and product specifications, they do have some differences. The Plano Collection is part of Bruce’s Common Grade category which features a greater amount of visual character such as wider color and grain variation, mineral streaks, knots and small holes as well as minor milling imperfections. A:  Not premium. We like the look. Looks like real wood. Very hard. Not able to cut with a hand saw. Put in every room except baths and kitchen. Looks great.

A:  I would not use the product at all ! -- The finish does not hold up - After just two weeks in our kitchen the floor was one big mess of scratches. Contacted Bruce Hardwoods and they offered no help at all .

A:  Hi Mat, I bought this flooring for a similar purpose as yourself: this floor is 1/16 in thinner than older maple flooring, and so it won’t fit into maple nosing perfectly (you’ll need to do some sanding). As for color the flooring is pre-stained with oil based stain, so you’ll be fine as long as you stick with oil.. I got my nosing from Lumber Liquidators and it was very good quality. Hope this helps.
