Q:How do you take the filter off to clean it?
by|Mar 17, 2018
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  The filter is a simple, snap-in fit. To remove it, turn off the hood, and with the assistance of a flat head screw driver (or a butter knife), carefully insert it between the hood and the filter and gently give it a little push. This should help it snap out of the location. If you feel uncomfortable doing this, give us a call at 888-336-3948 and we can discuss. Thank you.

Q:How do you clean the filter?

    Answer This Question

A:  The 43000-Series range hood is convertible. If you have a ducted installation, then there should be an aluminum filter. The aluminum filters can be soaked in hot soapy water and gently wiped or scrubbed with a soft bristle brush. IF you have a non-ducted installation and you are using charcoal filters, then you can NOT wash them. They must be replaced yearly. Thank you.

A:  To clean, the filter should be soaked in hot water and detergent and thoroughly rinsed. The aluminum filter can be cleaned in a dishwasher.

A:  The rectangular duct for this range hood is 3-1/4" x 10". This range hood is rated at 7 sones. Yes, the small holes on top of the range hood are for installation underneath a cabinet. The QT2000 series range hood is quieter. (4.5 sones.). It also features an infinitely adjustable, rotary speed control.

A:  Sound on LOW=quiet,on HI=Loud...Easy installation, you can vent a few different ways (see the installation guide) provision for rectangle or round exhaust vent.(Only the rectangle damper is included). It can be hard wired or a 3 prong plug lead can be connected (NOT included).I think it's a Good value, considering the price....There ARE better ones out there (more expensive??)

Q:I'm buying this hood for the ductless setup option but am concerned about how it will vent smoke??

          Answer This Question

A:  With a ductless setup the smoke will vent out the front into the kitchen.

          by|May 6, 2023

A:  Any ductless style will intake your cooking fumes & smoke, thru the filter, and vent back into the room. NOT recommended ,ducted exhaust is far BETTER !

          by|May 5, 2023

A:  As a ductless set up, it does not vent or exhaust anything. Ductless range hoods are designed to re-circulate air over charcoal filters to remove odors only. In order to remove smoke and steam, you will need a ducted range hood.

                Answer This Question

A:  No, a 75-watt bulb is the maximum.

                by|May 4, 2023

A:  Use an LED bulb, they produce very little heat. Then you can use 100 watt.

A:  We only recommend the 75 Watt bulb. A higher wattage bulb can produce too much heat and could begin to discolor the plastic lens cover. IF you have additional questions, dial 888-336-6151 and speak with our Technical Support Department. Thanks.

Q:I want to vent this through the roof, and I want to make the process as easy as possible. At first glance, it looks like the duct work won't match up between the kit and this model, but I just wanted to confirm. If that's the case, and there's an additional part that could compensate for the gap, that'd be ideal. Thanks for your time. Here's the product info for the roof vent kit. Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. The RVK1A is designed for 3" or 4" exhaust. This range hood is 180 CFM. You need to have a 7" round or 3-1/4" x 10" duct. If you try to reduce the duct down to 4" you will have problems with the range hood. We would recommend only using the correct size duct work, and roof cap for this unit. The RVK1A is not suggested for this installation.
