A: For flat decks I roll it on with a rough roller on a pole. Works very well. You might need to use a paint brush to touch up or get smaller areas.

A: Hi Vindiesal,
Thanks for writing in with your question. Before applying DeckOver, make sure that the surface is clean, etched (if concrete) and dry. You can apply using a nylon/polyester brush, a roller with a 1/4-1/2" nap roller or an airless sprayer. Check out our How-To-Videos online!
Have a great day!

A: Hi Mir,
Thank you for posting your question. Yes, you can apply the DeckOver to your deck using an airless sprayer. You will need a tip size between .027-.035 with no filter and spray it at 2400-3200 psi. This is a thicker product, so we suggest the person applying it has experience with a sprayer. Be sure to follow all label instructions when using the DeckOver. Have a great day!
Regards,
Amanda

A: Hello Shodan,
Thank you for your question. Our DeckOver can be applied to furniture, such as picnic tables and benches. Keep in mind that the coating's finish is meant to be textured though and that our coatings are not FDA approved, so we would not recommend applying on surfaces that will come in direct contact with food.
Have a great day and good luck with your project! -Joanna

A: Hi fitz,
Thank you for your question. The DeckOver can be applied directly on top of water or oil-based paints and stains that are still in very good condition. If you see any areas where the old paint is peeling, flaking, cracking, etc., you'll want to sand these spots down beforehand. Best wishes for your project! - Sara

Q:How well will it cover over a deck previously sealed with weather seal?

Answer This Question
A: I would pressure wash it first and then scrub it with their deck cleaning solution and let it dry thoroughly.
Don't skimp on the deckover application. 2 liberal coats applied a few days apart.

A: I have had mine on my deck for 3 years and it still looks good. Very easy to roll on another coat to touch it up if you want, but mine still looks good. Has lasted longer than anything I've ever used.

A: Hi MikeA,
Thanks for writing in with your question. Our DeckOver has a limited warranty, so it is hard to say exactly as there are many factors that will contribute to its longevity (age of wood, weather, application, etc).
Feel free to email in at webtechserv@behr.com if you have any other questions.
