Q:Hi - Can this be used on a cedar shake roof that has already been painted black?

A:  Hi Nick, thanks for the question. As long as the paint that was used prior is designed to be used on roofs, there shouldn't be any issues. If the existing paint is glossy, it should be scuff-sanded to help with the adhesion of the new paint. Have a great day! -Ronald

      A:  Hi Truphone, thank you for your question. Our Roof Paint is a stand-alone coating. We recommend using on clean and sound surfaces. We recommend priming all metal, asphalt, and wood surfaces with our Multi-Surface Primer and Sealer No. 436.         A:  Hi Chip, thank you for your question. We do not recommend topcoating the Roof Paint with a glossy finish. However, if the topcoat you want to use is suitable for roofs and it can be used over a water-based coating, then you should be able to use it. Have a great day! -Giovanna
