Q:We have a fiberglass shower enclosure. Where the sidewalls meet the base there is a slight radius, it is not a perfect inside square corner, does the weatherstripping on the door on the side and the bottom accommodate this slight radius?

A:  Hi Louis - thank you for your interest in Aston and the NAUTIS Completely Frameless Shower Door Collection. This collection does not provide much out-of-plumb adjustability, which is what your three-wall alcove's layout seems to need. We encourage you to discover our BELMORE Frameless Shower Door Collection, also available in this spec, which features a slimline low-profile wall channel that provides up to 1-in. out of plumb adjustability. It features similar styling with added features and benefits. Aston highly recommends, if not requires, professional installation with at least two adults in the process. Please do not DIY this project unless you are experienced. Thank you!

        Answer This Question

A:  Thanks for your interest in Aston and the NAUTIS Completely Frameless Shower Collection. If your finished alcove opening in 56", than yes - this model will work. It also offers a slight 1/4-inch adjustability per side if needed. Regarding your green hue concerns in our tempered, frosted glass - that in unique scenarios, a slight green tint to some of our frosted glass models due to the inherit iron content (from the sand used to manufacture the glass). This can be most visible when looking at the glass from the edges. It also might appear if you have colors in your bathroom that are to green on the color spectrum. Professional installation is highly recommended, if not required, with at least two adults taking part in the process. This is not a 'DIY' project for the vast majority of homeowners. Thank you!

            Answer This Question

A:  Hi Dave - thank you for your interest in Aston for your remodel. The NAUTIS Completely Frameless Shower Door Collection could be properly installed into your existing shower surround - as long as you have at least 4" studs behind it. Our materials are high quality, thick and therefore, heavy so that aspect is required. Drilling into the threshold is also usually required as well. Please note Aston only recommends professional installation by a licensed contractor or plumber with at least 2 adults taking part in the process. Thank you!

A:  Hi John - thank you for your interest in Aston. The NAUTIS Completely Frameless Shower Door Collection offers an outward swinging hinged door by design, due to the seal between the two panels. Aston only recommends professional installation from a licensed contractor or plumber, and at least 2 adults are required for the process. Thank you!

              by|Oct 18, 2020

A:  The door hinges allow in or out. The seal between door and fixed part is what dictates which direction. This can easily be set either way. Mine is on fixed wall for out. You would probably want it on door for in to minimize leaking.

Q:Can I use the side panel to go above "knee wall" horizontally (of course I would have glass cut to fit but at least it would be matching). Or does this side panel HAVE to be installed vertically next to door, for door to work?

A:  Hi Holly - thanks for your interest in Aston. The NAUTIS Completely Frameless Shower Door Collection, and every Aston Frameless Shower Collection, can only be installed as designed. In this case both panels must be installed professionally as shown. The fixed panel, or any part, can not be cut (will shatter), manipulated, alternated, etc outside of its intended usage. It will not perform as expected and warranty / return policies will be nullified. We hope you find the perfect frameless shower with us, as we offer over 10,000 custom style models for thousands of layouts. Thank you!

Q:Is there any out-of-plumb adjustment on the door side? For example, some adjustability in the hinges where they tighten to the glass? I need the bottom of the glass to be about 1/4" further from the wall to make the bottom square.

                    Answer This Question

A:  Hi Steve - thanks for your interest in Aston. With the beautiful NAUTIS Completely Frameless Shower Door Collection, each side, the fixed panel and the hinged panel, each offer a 1/4 in. out-of-plumb adjustability. So you should successfully be able to adjust this door's hinge hardware to your alcove wall's specifications. However, Aston always recommends a licensed contractor or plumber for all professional installations and two adults are required. Thank you!
