Q:My shower opening is right at 71” tile face to tile face. Will this one still work? I see it says 70.25” but the next size I could find in this only goes down to 71.5” I believe.

Answer This Question

A:  Hi Ryan, thank you for your interest in Aston and the NAUTIS Completely Frameless Shower Door Collection. If your finished alcove width is 71 in. at its max points, you would want o consider our 70.25 to 71.25 in. x 72 in. model. We can help you find it too! The model SKU for this exact specification, with frosted glass and matte black hardware, would be SDR985F-MB-71-10 to search. Aston highly recommends professional installation with at least two adults due to the heavy nature of the tempered glass and any adjustability processes. Please do not DIY this yourself. Thank you!

This model fits finished alcove widths from 71.25 to 72.25 in. wide. If your opening at its max points is 69.5 in., we would advise you to consider the NAUTIS 69.25 to 70.25 in. x 72 in. model. A:  Hi Timo - thank you for your interest in Aston and the NAUTIS Completely Frameless Shower Door Collection for your bathroom. We recommend a minimum threshold depth of your tiled or custom flat, level curb of at least 2-1/4 in. for this collection. Drilling into the threshold is typically required as well. Aston highly recommends, if not requires, professional installation by a licensed contractor with at least two adults in the process due to the heavy nature of the glass and adjustability process. Please do not DIY this install unless you are experienced. Thank you!

Q:Is the seal removable on the door to clean and put back on?

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi Chris - thank you for your interest in Aston and the NAUTIS Completely Frameless Shower Door Collection. Yes - you can remove the seals to clean. You may need to apply some pressure if you've never removed the strip before, but once it's off you can clean, soak and/or brush it. A simple solution of warm water, white vinegar and a small amount of dish soap is all you need. Should you choose this, or any of Aston's luxury frameless showers, we highly recommend, if not require, professional installation by a licensed contractor with at least two adults in the process due to the heavy nature of the glass and adjustability process. Please do not DIY this install unless you are experienced. Thank you!

Q:I see that the door is reversible, but can the hinges swing INTO the shower? Also where is it fabricated? We are willing to drive to pick it up, rather than wait until June 23rd.

          Answer This Question

A:  Hi Henry - thank you for your interest in Aston and the NAUTIS Completely Frameless Shower Door Collection for your bathroom. This luxurious model is reversibly designed for a left or right hand opening in your finished shower alcove. When properly installed and all the seals are in place, the NAUTIS GS Collection features and outwards-only swinging hinge door entry. We do not offer factory or distribution hub pickup. We might have our similar BELMORE Collection model in stock for immediate shipment that's available in this width / glass / hardware finish spec. Professional installation is highly recommended, if not required, with at least two adults taking part in the process due to the heavy nature of the glass and any adjustability procedures. This is not a 'DIY' project for the vast majority of homeowners. Thank you!

Q:Hello, We just remodeled a bathroom and enlarged the shower. However, we found out that the wall is not plumed. We have 63 7/8" wide on the top and middle. The bottom...near basin is 63 5/8" wide. Will we be able to use the Nautis frameless?

            Answer This Question

A:  Hi Joyce - thank you for your interest in Aston. Congratulations on your new bathroom remodel! When determining which size frameless shower model to buy, you should always use the measurements at your finished alcove's max points. So, in this case, it will be 63-7/8 in. Since your shower is out of plumb, we offer a beautiful solution with our BELMORE Frameless Shower Door Collection. It offers near identical design cues as the NAUTIS, but with a low profile wall channel that offers up to 1-in. out of plumb adjustability. The model you would want to consider is our 63.25 to 64.25 in. x 72 in. size. It also is available in brushed stainless finish with our StarCast clear glass. The model SKU for that would be: SDR965EZ-SS-6432-10. Aston highly recommends, if not requires, professional installation with at least two adults in the process due to the heavy nature of the glass and adjustability process. Please do not DIY this unless you are experienced. Thank you!

Q:My client has purchased this door and ask I build the shower around it. What is the finished opening I need?

              Answer This Question

A:  Hi Blaine - thank you for your interest in Aston and the NAUTIS Completely Frameless Hinged Shower Door Collection for your client's bathroom. The size in the product title represents the finished alcove width required for the particular model (and not the size of the panels installed). So, in this case, a 49-in. finished alcove width would be required for this model, and each side offers a slight .25-in. adjustability. If you need more adjustability, we offer the BELMORE Frameless Hinged Shower Door Collection, which is similar in 2-panel hinged design, offers identical sizing, but provides 1-in. of out of plumb adjustability. Thank you!

Q:How far up and down on the fixed panel are the wall brackets located? Trying to make sure I have enough support in those areas.

                Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in Aston and the NAUTIS Completely Frameless Shower Door Collection. The support hardware is about 10-12 in. from the top and bottom of the fixed glass panels. Same, roughly for the hinged hardware of the door panel. Do not drill into glass tile, and you should have at least 2-in. studs behind your finished alcove walls. Aston highly recommends, if not requires, professional installation by a licensed contractor with at least two adults in the process due to the heavy nature of the glass. Please do not DIY this unless you are experienced. Thank you!
