Q:Is the height of the handlebars adjustable to the height of operator?
    by|Feb 20, 2014

    Answer This Question

A:  I checked mine to be sure, but there is no adjustment for the handlebars. They are bolted in a fixed position.

    by|May 3, 2023

A:  The handlebars are not adjustable. They are set to the average the OPEI sets.

    by|May 3, 2023

      A:  I don't know I took the 24" back and got the 28".but I don't think there is a height adjustment.

      by|May 3, 2023

      A:  No, handlebars not adjustable.

      by|May 3, 2023

      A:  no they are fixed

      by|May 3, 2023

A:  I am five feet ten inches tall. The handle is at the right height for me. If you are 5' 3" or shorter, it may be too high for you. If you are over six feet tall, the handle will be just fine. You want to make sure you are able to walk normally behind the blower and have good posture or you will certainly be sore and have regrets. I have not found the handle to be adjustable.

Q:Would this snowblower be easy for a woman to use?

      Answer This Question

A:  Absolutely. I have used it and it is easy to handle, gets the job done and I wasn't tired when finished.

      by|May 3, 2023

A:  Suggest that you test the machine and make the decision. The model 920014 weighs 212 lbs.

        by|May 3, 2023

A:  It all depends on how agile you are. I would look at the snow blower in person to see if you can handle this type of product. I ordered mine on-line and I wished I would of went into the store to look at it first. It was overwhelming for me. I am 71 (young at heart), 5' 4" tall, medium built and thought I could handle it. I am returning the snow blower, with no problem, back to Home Depot. pm11

A:  Yes. Depending on your size, I would leave the the speed at 1 or 2. I am a larger woman (5'8" ~200lbs) with a permanent arm injury and I am able to move it just fine.

A:  I just bought the 624e and am 1.91M or 6'3". Bar Height is okay and consistent with other snowblowers, but i did find the 624e Compact very narrow compared to other machines.

A:  Heated hand grips are an option for the compact 24 920014 and 920021 models. You will need to order them through an Ariens dealer. I ordered them for my unit and they work great. Not very difficult to install.

A:  This model does not have a differential lock. It is a straight axle model that uses an axle lock pin to secure the wheels to the axle.

A:  I've noticed that, too. I don't think it's a problem; just a quirk in the machine. Maybe it's Ariens' way of making sure the operator is awake & alert. :D)

A:  Once the unit has been run 15 - 20 minutes it is recommended to adjust the idler pulley to add the proper tension to the attachment belt. You may still hear a thump when disengaging the belt that is normal for this unit. As the sno-thro is used this noise will lessen.

Q:You seem to have to pull up on the handles to keep the edge on the ground, but then loses traction when you do. Wheels slip a lot even on the slow gear. Seems to hang up way to much. Seems like this doesn't have enough weight to it. Dont have this issue with the Troy Built 2 stage. Any ideas on setup or something I'm missing?

A:  Sno-thro will not pick up snow that has been driven on and packed down it will ride over it. Both wheels on this model need to be pinned to the axle for maximum drive.

A:  I dont think ANY snow thrower is ideal in all weather types and gradients. I bought this one because it is perfect for us. It does the job, not so well in WET snow really well in light fluffy snow. Show me one that does do well in wet snow.... we have an embankment that it does fine with. If you are having trouble getting it to go forward over a bump or whatever turn it around and try backwards, you may find that works as i did.
