Q:My pot is 14" tall and these are 11.81" long but that's counting the bulb. Is the end of the tube supposed to be at the top 1/3 of the plant, 1/2 way, or do I push the tube down to the bottom of the plant. What is the best level for the water to come out?

Answer This Question

A:  I end up pushing the stem all the way down. But I have had pots that are too short and some of the stem sticks up - works great either way

A:  The water will start to come out when the soil becomes dry. As such, properly water your plant first and then place the Aqua Globe half to 2/3 way in the plant.

A:  I’ve always put mine so there’s a few inches of the tube showing, I don’t think it overly matters the roots will draw water from the soil as needed. I only fill mine once per week and it seems to do the trick!

A:  Purchased the bulb and I stopped using it for the reason. First it was an exciting purchase but now it keeps getting dirt inside and having to spend lots of time trying to get the dirt out and plants were not getting the water. I should have returned it because now it's just collecting dust.

A:  Push dirt inside bulb, fill with water, swish water around and empty until you get it clean. Before reinserting in dirt use a rod or stick to make a “hole” for inserting. Bulb will stay cleaner in the future

A:  They are blown glass, and a little fragile. Two of mine are broken already. I still think they are a good idea, as they kept our Plumeria alive on a 4 day vacation, but they can break easily. If nothing else touches them in the dishwasher you're probably OK.

A:  The Aquaglobes work well in large outdoor containers between late spring to end of autums. Best to bring them in for the winter and early spring. Since the soil "releases oxygen into the Watering Globes when it becomes dry, which in turn release the exact amount of water the plant needs" - there is no danger of over-watering, putting 2 globes into larger outdoor containers.

A:  Depends on the size of the container and the plant you have planted in the container. Some plants need moist soil while others do better in a bit of dry soil.

Q:would these still be effective in the breathable "Bag" type planters? I'm growing some plants and I wanted to start them inside. I am just curious if there may be too much oxygen going through the bag and may effect these globes.

A:  As long as the volume of soil is balanced with the volume of water inside the water ball I'd say yes. Your plants should be just fine.

A:  I think they will work when the soil gets dry the globes releases the water you just have to make sure the pipe on the globe is not clogged with soil. The instructions are great just follow them you will be fine.

A:  Not sure this would be ideal. As the soil and bag would drain the globes faster than intended. The globe supplies water to the soil as the soil dries. In the bags, the moisture could pass through the bag quicker than a solid container. May still work, just not over as long a time.

A:  I would not use these in bag type planters. I think they distribute the water too quickly. And I would be cautious that the sharp glass end of the tube might pierce the bag. I suggest a plastic product, preferably of a more sophisticated design.
