Questions and Answers for Agri-Fab 130 lb. Push Broadcast Salt Spreader

A:  Dear Hollywood - Please look at the assembly manual located in the guides section of HD.com. There is assembly required to mount the hopper on the frame. There are assembly videos available on the Agri-Fab YouTube brand page search for model 45-0462 if you cannot find 45-0502. A:  It does not come assembled and honestly there are A LOT of small parts but the manual is easy to understand.

A:  We recommend granular or pelleted product. We do have customers that have used the spreader for sand with mixed results. Sand would have to be very dry to avoid clumping.

A:  Thank you for your question. The Agri-Fab spreader are designed for granular or pelleted product only not for mulch.

A:  Yes You can open and close the shoot to make more or less come out

A:  Dear Dolly - Agri-Fab spreaders are not designed for powdered lime applications. If you are spreading pelleted lime the spreader will work, along with fertilizers, grass seed and granular herbicides. A:  I don`t see why not

A:  Yes. Fertilizer, seed and salt however I recommend you thoroughly washing it after using salt as it is not good for the metal parts.

A:  Dear Ken - A spreader can be used for fertilizer, seed, ice melt , granular herbicides and other similar media. Follow the application directions on the product while using the chart included with the spreader. Agri-Fab recommends you do a test pattern on a walk or driveway to ensure you are getting the proper flow and distribution. In addition, a spreader should be thoroughly cleaned after each use. A:  Not very efficiently. Sweet-gum balls stick together like Velcro and gets matted into the grass and brushes of the sweeper.

A:  It is a good sized opening. This spreader is heavy duty, and should be able to handle it. I am pleased with how well mine worked for me.

A:  The opening is 1" x 3" with an adjustable spread rate. We use it to throw salt on the parking lot and sidewalks of our building. It throws a lot of salt!!!

A:  this spreader spreads largest chunks of rock salt on the market. I think it should handle any brand of salt.

A:  I haven’t used rock salt in mine but I believe there is plenty of room for the bigger crystals as long as you don’t have lumps in it. This spreader is more durable and works better than the 100 lb rated ones.
