This is a great buy! I like the height of the handles which keep you from bending over while pushing and even with a full load, it is still easily pushed. I pushed out 2 acres with no problem easily as I did section by section with no problem. I recommend it and honestly can't find anything that I would change. For now it's all I need until I get older then I'll need the zero-turn attachment option so Agri-Fab has some time to create one for me.

The spreader is very nice. Its lightweight and the control for spreading is very convenient. It is durable and well made. Its made our life so much easier at our job!

Does not work with salt & sand mix. Salt only. I was sold 20 bags of salt & sand mix that I now have to spread by hand, only using the spreader to carry the salt & sand down my 500 ft driveway.

This is no Lesco spreader, but certainly an upgrade from those cheap Scott's spreaders. Assembly was really easy, and seems to be built to last. Hope to see many years of serv ou cr out if th ou s unit.

Well constructed heavy duty spreader. Assembly requires some handyman skills, but not difficult overall. I like this spreader especially because I can push it while walking upright and do not have to bend my aching back like I had to with my old one!

I like the spreader and the sturdiness of it. It seems high quality and I've used it this spring and it worked well. I like the adjustable setting which allow you to shut off all flow and then go to the designated spreader setting. The assembly was a bit challenging, given the instruction manual's level of detail. That said, there are youtube videos that assist. The challenge with a non-Scotts brand is they don't tell you what setting to use of that fertilizer or others. I went to the Agri-Fab website FAQs and found that they have recommended settings based on light, med, and heavy coverage or based on granular of pelletized product. The spreader also works for spreading winter salt too. Overall, I'd purchase again...I'd just recommend Agri-Fab increase the level of assembly instruction details and put the spreader settings in the instruction manual and not just on the FAQs.

Bigger than what I expected! I had only one issue putting it together. Missing the rod that controls the spreader. I e-mailed company about the missing part and I had the part in a couple of days! Excellent customer service too!

Doesn't work as good as I had hoped during the first season of snow when it was used 6 times. I am now preparing for another winter (season #2 for this spreader). The tires won't move because the salt that fell on the spreader and the metal axle has rusted badly. They should have used better metal, right? Quite a piece of junk, I'd say. Not sure what other spreader out there might be better. I'm going to call the manufacturer to see if they will replace it.

Works excellent. I removed the grate that goes into the hopper because it’s not needed for “pellet style” calcium chloride. The deflector works excellent when doing sidewalks/walkways. Assembly was a little tedious but not as bad as some people make it out to be

Just what I was looking for.

I received my 45-05021 salt spreader a few days ago. It was easy to assemble and the construction was very good. This looks like it will last a long time. Great Product.

It was missing parts, so we had to wait a week for them.

I bought one of these spreaders a year ago at a pawn shop. It worked great and my employees loved it. I purchased 3 more from HD for the winter season. I take care of 9 Walgreens for snow. I read about the supreme difficulty in putting these spreaders together. I figured it can't be all that difficult. About 3 hours later, I finally had the 3 spreaders put together. It wasn't that it was overly complicated, but just crazy time consuming. It is embarrassing that the builders at Agri-Fab, don't see the need in doing a partial assembly. They could easily have the handle together in one piece, the axle assembled in another and the hopper in a third. It would not be a big deal if the consumer had to spend 15 minutes to assemble, but an hour is silly. I have purchased less sturdy spreaders in the past, and most require about 10 minutes at most to assemble. Minus the assembly, these are nice spreaders, which can hold a great deal of material and last for years.

I will say this unit is sturdy and well built. It felt good when filled up while other brands were shaky even with less material. It’s a bit of a pain to put together. But not overly hard. Tedious and time consuming. I bought this to spread bulk rock salt...it doesn’t spread unless you shake it.

This is the second one of these I have purchased, I would have given it 5 stars but it had a missing part and a part that did not belong with the machine. Not a big deal, luckily it was the push nut that would hold the wheel on but I for now have just not put one on the side that is pinned in the axle to spin the spreader so it cant fall off anyway. Other than that I have been completely satisfied with these.

November 2018 in Iowa This review is based on the assembly process and product appearance. I will update my review when I use the product. Expect to spend 1.5 hours assembling this unit. The directions are easy enough to understand, but it would help if you had some mechanical background. Follow the instructions to the tee and don't tighten the nuts until you are instructed to do so. Fully assembled the unit is very robust. I like the idea that you can remove the gear box cover to grease the gears as needed. I sprayed all the bolts, nuts, washers, shafts, mating surfaces with lithium grease to slow or prevent corrosion.

Been using it all season great salter never a problem people complaining about instructions but there very clear

purchased 6 weeks ago, used for 6 storms. spreads well and evenly. cut stalk spread time by 75% and more efficient use of salt. easy to assemble if you follow directions. took me about 45 minutes. the only "issue " I have is the snow cover is PIA, I just used a plastic sheet with string/elastic to keep salt dry

Make sure the salt thrower is turning clockwise. Holds a lot of salt great product
