A: Hello Dina,
Battery is for the electric igniter - so when you press the GAS and hit button to ignite, it lights the flames.

A: The battery is for the igniter to light the gas. I know you did not ask but the fire pit works fine but I have had a problem with the finish on the table top. It has peeled after only 2 years. Always covered with a Duck Cover sold by Home Depot but somehow the top deteriorated (see photos attached). Started last year with a small spot but got much worse over the last winter. Wrote to manufactured last year but received no response. CANNOT recommend this pit.

Answer This Question
A: Yes, there is a lid for the fire pit area.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Yes there is a LID that comes w/ the UNIT, it covers glass rocks/fire apparatus. Of course it must be removed when in use, and I normally wait like an hour or 2 for rocks to cool before putting the cover back on. does protect rocks from elements, sun/dust/rain but I do have a nice protective cover the whole unit from Rain/etc.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Yes, of course. Just give enough cool-off time before placing on.
