A:  It has a pull out container, holds about 2.5 gal. Has handles on each end, easy to fill if you have a deep sink and a tall spout, or you need to use the hose provided. Pulls out from the top

A:  You remove the small black cover on the top left and then lift out the plastic tank. Turn it upside down and remove the cap to fill it. So in answer to your question, the refill is located on the bottom so you need to lift it.
