A: No. It's decomposed Spragnum Moss. The old moss dies, then the new moss grows on top of this in the bogs.

Q:Can I use a drop spreader (like a Scott’s Accugreen 1000) to lay this down?
by|Apr 13, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: You could try, but they make special spreaders for this. The drop and rotary spreaders will clog as this is organic with pieces that are too big from time to time. It will probably clog often.

Q:How do you use this planting new shrubs in garden and drainage is poor

Answer This Question
A: I don't use this for my yard. I have zero gardening skills. I use it, mixed with some clean play sand, as substrate for my box turtles when they need to be inside. Big tip: natural substrate should be used for your pet reptiles. Peat moss and play sand is found at Home Depot.
