Q:What would cause it to bubble excessively on a single board? Rest of table looks like a glass mirror but one looks like the board has a fungus there are so many bubbles. Tried using a heat gun eliminated some of the bubbles but still has a ton.
      by|Dec 28, 2023
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Bubbles generally occur when Glaze Coat penetrates wooden surfaces and replaces the air in the wood. This air moves through the epoxy in the form of bubbles that come to the surface of the epoxy. If the wood was not sealed prior to Glaze Coat being applied, many bubbles may develop. To alleviate this, allow the product to cure for 48 hours, then sand "open" the top of all the bubbles with a 220 grit sand paper. Clean the surface with acetone, and repour another coat over the whole surface--this next coat should flow into the bubble voids and fill them in for a smooth outcome. There should not be excessive bubbles on the next coat due to the wooden surface now being sealed with the 1st coat of epoxy. Thank you for your support of Eclectic Products and The Home Depot!

Q:My project is pieces of broken dishes attached (planning to use E6000) to wood. Can I use the product on top to fill in the gaps ?
        by|Sep 19, 2023
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Glaze Coat can be used to fill gaps and voids, but make sure there is a dam or railing around the project to hold the epoxy on the surface. Do not pour thicker than 1/4", and work in layers if a thicker application is needed. Thank you for your support of Eclectic Products and The Home Depot!

          Dangerous
I'm a builders daughter and have done just about every home improvement possible. THIS STUFF IS DANGEROUS! Followed the instructions exactly as it said, in fact my husband and I both read it thoroughly, even used a timer. We noticed at the end of the instructed time the container was very warm. As we got ready to pour, it started to boil! Boiled over and started smoking. I would not recommend this product what so ever!! Just wasted $80

            Didn’t harden
Followed the directions exactly. After 2 hours it was still dripping off & ruined a $300 piece of butcher block it looked so bad

              Process
Had good first time results. I coated a teak bar table. The mixing for 6 minutes, then switching containers and mixing for an additional 6 minutes or until the mixture reaches 90° took closer to an additional 20 minutes. Ideally where you do this project, the warmer the better. My shop was 65°.

                Turned countertop yellowish
Looked great when wet but now that it’s hardened it has a yellow tint throughout and I’m kind of disappointed because now I have to redo my bathroom countertops.

                  Do NOT BUY
The people that sell this product should be ashamed of themselves. We bought this to cover a custom made kitchen island. Follwed the dorections to the T. Even watched youtube videos before we started. It never dried. Was sticky for over a month even in recommended temperature. Save yourself the money of having to scrap your project and starting from scratch.
