I wanted as good a vise as possible for less than $100 to use in my home DIY workshop. A vise that would stand up to most, but not an excessive amount of "abuse". This Yost fits the bill. It can rotate 360 degrees. It has a covered main screw. It has a reasonably high clamping strength (4200 lbs.). It operates smoothly. It is heavier than you would think from its appearance. I installed it on the workbench using machine bolts. It is painted a very bright yellow. One reviewer called it "pretty". Don't know about that, but it certainly stands out.

This is a very well made, lightweight vice....perfect for a small shop or homeowner garage. It actually came with a an extra set of "slip-over" plastic jaw covers for when you are working with material you don't want scratched or marred. I am well pleased with the construction, weight and flexibility this vice offers.

I bought this for my son in law for Christmas. He was thrilled with it.

Great small vise for home projects

I wanted to keep a color scheme in my garage workshop consistent with the Dewalt Tools I am faithful to. This Yost brand vise matched and surpassed my expectations. It is installed and visible and functional.

It wasn't yellow, it was black. Otherwise do far so good.

The vice is really solid. The vice it replaced would not stay in place when torque was applied to it. I love it.

could use a higher finish on the threads. will probably get better with use. used it many times already.

This vise is absolutely massive and perfect for what I needed it for. It will definitely come in handy for future projects.

Not having had a lot of time to use the vice but my first impressions are that it is an excellent vice especially at this price. I am looking forward to many years of good service from it. I would definitely recommend this vice for anyone that needs a vice for moderate to occasional heavy duty use. Only time will tell for sure just how strong it is, but my bet is it will do anything I need a vice to do.

For the price, this vise is worth the money.

The vise is just the right size for my needs. It is all steel and is manufactured with care. The yellow color is not to bright and it helps it to stand out in my shop area. The jaw face plates are removable and the rubber grommets on the turn handle are nice. It does swivel 360 degrees. The main screw is lubed and runs in and out nicely and the vise tightens up really well, but to be honest, I am not using it for heavy duty work, just around the home needs The anvil area is a nice flat size and looks like it could take a good hammering. The only con I have is that in the pictures, it looks to have FOUR feet with bolt holes to attach it to a bench, but the one i received only had three. Overall, that is not a reason to send it back and it bolted to my work bench just fine. It also comes with instructions (paperwork) which includes a diagram (that is not to scale) that just shows the overall dimensions. I have only had it for a month and only used it once, but I would recommend this vise for around the home and shop use.
