First Battery Powered Trimmer-Battery life too short (30 mins)
I have used the trimmer twice since buying & both times the battery has only lasted 30 mins. I need it to last longer in order to complete both front & back yards. I am using it on grass only, nothing heavy duty. The line feeds really well, I like that just fine! The edger is great, it's the reason I purchased it. But unfortunately, I need longer battery life without having to purchase an additional battery. I am contemplating returning the trimmer.

My apologizes on this experience, please be aware that the runtime will vary depending on the task at hand (thickness of the grass, how long the grass is and the pace of the customer). The unit will work much harder under those circumstances(decreasing run time). A small tip we have picked up along the way would be to charge the battery during the winter every 4-6 weeks this avoids the battery sitting dormant and depleting at a higher %. Thank you for your time and patience. WORX

10 in. 24-Volt Cordless Electric Grass Trimmer
The Worx trimmer that I purchased in 2010 has not lived up to expectations. First, the charge time is lengthy (about five hours), and the usage time is short, (about 20 minutes). Also, the spools have proved to be a problem. There is not much line, and often I have to pull the line out of the spool becuase it does not lengthen automatically. Today, my second battery died. I will not be replacing the battery because I can buy a more durable trimmer for only a few dollars more. I would not recommend this product.

We appreciate you providing feed back on our product. My apologizes the unit is not fitting your needs. We do recommend storing the line in a control temperature environment due to being biodegradable. When you choose the manual feed option near the line (push 3-4 times) please do not pull the line when this is done. You are creating slack in the cartridge so once the trigger is held for 5-6 second and released(repeat 3xs) it will cause the unit to reset and this can be done as needed. The instructions are made to be as simple as possible, if any unanswered questions appear please contact Worx directly for a better understanding (We are here for you).A small tip we have picked up along the way would be to charge the battery during the winter every 4-6 weeks this avoids the battery sitting dormant and depleting at a higher %. Thank you for your time and patience. WORX

DON'T BUY!!!
I was pumped when I bought it. The first 15-20 uses went well. I really liked its versatility. Then the battery caved just past warranty. Not worth the investment!! Stay Away!!

Take a chance?
I've owned the WG151 Worx 10" 18v Ni-Cad Cordless Grass Trimmer/Edger for 2 years. I purchased a combo pack 3 pieces with 3 batteries. The one battery is good for about 10 minutes and you have to use the battery right after you charged them up, they will go dead in 2 days if not used. I have to use all 3 batteries for my small yard, 70x40. The weed eater would not advance the line and I would have to manually do it myself. Maybe the line that came with the package was old and brittle, because as soon as the line would meet any type of rock or metal, the line work shatter with ease. So I gave up and purchased a craftsman gas trimmer and this lasted less than 2 cuttings before it had starting problems and I went back to the Worx trimmer. I want to upgrade to the 24 Volt Lithium Trimmer, the reviews state it holds a longer charge and the line advances automatically. I will give Worx another chance. I do like the ease of grabbing a battery and the light weight trimmer and no loud noise.

Battery recall problem - 2 gone bad, Worx doesn't work
I bought a Worx trimmer in 2010 with a 24v battery, and then got a spare since I have a large lawn. There was a recall on the first battery. The company sent me to a website, which handled the recall. I got the first replacement battery without a problem in 2011. Now one of the batteries has gone dead AGAIN. It worked fine a couple weeks ago, and now nothing. The charger shows it is completely charged, but it is completely dead. The other battery still works (for now). When I called Worx, the representative called back after about 30 minutes, and when I mentioned the recall, he denied that the recall pertained to anything other than the 18v batteries. When I asked him why I got a replacement for my 24v, he was a little confused. Oh, and did I mention the recall website URL now sends you to their main website and you can't find any evidence of the recall? He wanted to sell me another ridiculously expensive battery because this one is "out of warranty". The trimmer works fine WHEN IT WORKS. However, the batteries are useless. I have no idea how long the other battery will last, but I'm not betting more than 6 months. Don't waste your money on these machines. Get a trimmer that will actually work more than a year or two. Calling these tools "Worx" is a contradiction in terms.

Great product
This is my second Worx Grass Trimmer. It is lightweight, cuts well and easy to use. Even though I need to recharge the battery to get one job done, I'm still a big fan of this product.

battery NO GOOD
I bought this item about 3 years ago. The original battery was good as it lasted enough to do my yard for the first year, then it slowly got less and less run time. The ease of use of the trimmer was great, I love the auto feed feature and the trim line lasted forever, maybe one spool a season. Once the first battery was done, I purchased a new Ni-CD battery from the Worx website, it lasted for about 2 cycles and now won't hold a charge anymore. So the batteries are an issue.

Battery life does not last very long, I am very disappointed with it, I thought it would work better than it does, I need to buy another battery, but at a $99.00 it is'nt worth it. An unhappy purchaser

Lightweight, easy to use and 2/1 features are a snap!
I read all the reviews about the battery life and have no problems in the first month of use. I followed the manual first charge instructions and have run the battery til fully discharged, allowed time for the battery to cool and then recharge the battery. Each charge has lasted over 45 minutes which is plenty of time to trim and edge both of our large lawns. Also, I do not store the battery on the trimmer. So far, there are no issues with the auto-spooling system. This cordless trimmer is so much easier to use than our gas trimmer! Being so lightweight my wife can easily use the trimmer! I wish we'd bought the Worx GT sooner!!

15Min Battery and very unbalanced to use
Home Depot great to deal with. Worx unit max 15 min use with the best 24volt battery Very unbalanced to use. Handle too far up on shaft I am blown away that no one at Worx feels the same way about it being unbalanced. Two of my friends bought this unit also and said the same thing.

      Battery Life is an Issue
I bought this after my gas trimmer died. I am tired of the gas/oil life and thought this would be the answer, well almost. The infomercial says you can can go around a football field twice. My yard is no where near the size of a football field so I figured I was good to go. I'm sorry to say, it ain't so. The battery has been through several complete drain and recharge cycles but it still does not make it around my 75'X144' yard. Maybe if you walk fast and hold the trimmer above the ground you can make it around the football field twice, but if the trimmer is actually doing work (trimming grass), It's not going to make it. The string is good, I am surprised at how long the first spool is lasting, I like the adjustability, and I especialy like the no gas/oil feature. I would recomend the Worx GT for it's features and durability, however, be warned the battery life is short.

      Not happy with it.
Does not perform as advertised. Chews off the grass instead of cutting it. Does not have the power to do a good job. Have to hold it in one place for a while waiting for it to cut, very tiresome.

      Don't Buy
Terrible product. I purchased an additional battery and neither one last more than 5 minutes. What a waste of money. This trimmers was a piece of junk. I will go back to a gas trimmer. My research indicates Tanaka and Hitachi make very good trimmers, both getting great consumer reviews.

      don't buy this junk
My first electirc weed eater and I was soooo excited, but the battery charger is junk, it is hard to see and the battery life is about 12 seconds if you are lucky, It gets hot and stops. I have no problem with the spools but I can not find a new battery and I am afraid to buy another one for fear it won't last any longer then the first one does. Worxs need to refund as a defective weed eater battery!

        Worx GT 24V
With all guys getting a new tool, I was excited but was concerned about all the reviews on the battery so I decided not to use the "man's" approach and actually read the instruction manual. Well, couldn't find anything about charging the battery the "first" time for 12 hours like I read for other reviews, so I stayed with what I read in the instruction manual. Charged it for 3-5 hours or in this case until the light came green. Unplugged it, since it was late I had to wait until morning to try it out. Next morning, put the battery back on the charger just to see if it would turn "red" but it didn't so I took it off the charger and headed for the fun. I have a pretty big yard (about 2 acres). I was able to trim along my house, down my driveway, and about 1/20th of my road front. Overall, not too impressed with it. I could only imagine if I bought the lesser voltage battery types available! Then I got to thinking about the infomercial...they cut 2 or 3 times around the football field. When have you ever seen a football field that has crabgrass, weeds, or even tall grass? This Worx Grass Trimmer (GT) is just that, only for "grass" If I wasn't having to wack down thick grass or weeds, then the load would have been minimal on the battery and probably lasted me at least my front yard but this trimmer is more for a yard that is already manicured and needs no "professional" strength. MY SUGGESTION TO WORX: Can you make it dual power accepted? Be able to attach a cord to it until you've gone too far (in length on the power cord) to unplug and keep going? Then and only then, would my yard get done with just one charge. Until then, this product is only good for those with manicured lawns already like the infomercial "golf grass" if you will.

Great for small or medium size yard
This is a great trimmer if you have a small or medium size yard! Quality product. It gets the job done for trimming and the line feeds automatically. The edger works well if you have a steady hand. Sometimes I go over the edging twice to make it look the way I want. I charged the battery for 5 hours before the first use and always disconnect the battery from the tool in between uses. It has not died on me and I've had it going strong for 45 min to an hour after full charge. I've only used it 3 times so far, but I'm happy with it. The battery hopefully continues to perform over time.

          Do not buy!
My first electric trimmer. This trimmer is built like a kids fisher price toy. Keep away from this product. Poor battery life, poor build, poor performance.... Spend the extra money and invest in a nice gas trimmer. If I could leave negative stars, I would.

Not good if you have more than 1/8th acre
The product does everything it says it will...for about 10-12 minutes. You have to buy a new expensive battery every year and you cannot get the replacement spools at my local store, I have to order weed-trimmer line online...doesn't do much good in the middle of lawn day.

I love it. Work's 20 minutes and always has line ready.
I use it as a trimmer and edger. It is lighter, easer and little sound. I have a large counter lot which takes two chargings. One for trimming and one for edging with some charge left. The line always automaticly advances correctly and 1 spoll lasted around 200 minutes. The line cut very well and is easy to respoll. I have used the Worx 2-in-1 24v Li-Ion trimmer/edger for over 3 months. It fits my needs very well. After 20 minutes I ready for a break also. O charge time is about 90 min.My gas trimmer took longer to cut my yard and could not edge (and was quite a hassel).

            Weak line / keeps breaking..!!
This product is easy to use, lightweight and has many advantages over gas powered trimmers. I spend a lot of time re-fishing the line through the spool-hole because it breaks often while edging.

            Just what the doctor ordered
I have a small yard and it only takes about 20-30 minutes to take care of all weed trimming with this product. It did better than I expected. It fed the line out with no problems and had enough power to do the job. It is light wieght too. What else can you ask for? I already have an electric edger so I did not use that function.

            Lightweight, easy to use
Works extremely well for an average yard. Switching from trimming to edging is a snap - takes about 5 seconds. Best of all, it won't break your back like others. The only negative experience so far is trying to use in grass about 1 ft tall. It does not have the power to whack field grass down, but great for reg lawns.

            The Worx GT is unreal
I have had the Worx GT for a few weeks and I love it. So far it has worked as advertised. No major issues. Light and easy to use. I will buy another battery just to ensure I have enough juice to complete my work. But overall this product has my highest recommendation.

            Does the job
Easily replaces the 2 gas machines that I was using. Could use a guide in the edging mode. The first spool got stuck and had to be replaced although 3/4 full. Otherwise no complaints. Like it
