My current model is a replacement from the last model that I bought in the store. This model does not work as well. Having the same issue with the door closes but microwave we will not come on with no light

I am really enjoying this microwave. This was the last of my appliances to change out, going from white to black. Husband & brother-in-law were able to install it without any problems. I haven't used all the various settings that are included, but love that I have the choices. Meeting all of our expectations. The only thing that is a drawback for me, and I had read this on another review, is that there is only one light underneath, and that is towards the back of the microwave. I use that light while cooking on range at night. If I could make a suggestion to Whirlpool, it would be to have two lights, one on each side for better lighting on range. But it doesn't affect the performance of the microwave - which has been great!

It looks even better in person, and we absolutely love it!! We find the "white ice" to be the perfect compromise between the popular look of stainless steel and the easier cleaning of glossy white (or black, but white works better for our kitchen, keeping it from being too dark). Directions for installation were very clear, and it works very well. Very happy with our purchase!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This microwave is my first built in unit. It's quite a bit larger than the one it replaced. Easy to learn panel. The features signal tones are very pleasant. The sensor heat features are much better than my previous units.

Great microwave! This replaced a GE model that burned up after only owning for 4 years.

The product works exactly as advertised. However we had to change the rear discharge position slightly. It would be good if the discharge had provisions for removing some metal to more closely match the studs location in the back wall.

This microwave was installed by our builder 3.5 years ago. After about a year, we started have problems with it not turning on. At first, the light sometimes wouldn’t turn on when we open the door, nor would it work after we closed the door. This has now become more of the norm. It’s frustrating to need to use the microwave and it not working. Help?

JUNK! I have owned this microwave for about 2 years now and have buyer's remorse daily. This microwave replaced a 15 year old Kenmore which was still working great, but it was the only non-stainless appliance left in my kitchen. Things I despise about this unit: - DEFROST is a joke; correct meat and weight and it's still a frozen hunk. - The SOFTEN/MELT feature is also a joke. I was really looking forward to this one as I bake a lot. A stick of butter is still rock hard at the end of the cycle. - POPCORN setting *burns* a bag of popcorn. - You can't use the timer and cook something in the microwave at the same time; it shuts the timer off. - The light underneath is positioned at the *BACK* of the unit so the back of the stove is nicely lit up. Sadly you can't see what you're cooking on the front burners. - The exhaust fan is loud enough to give you a headache. - We also experienced the problem others have reported with the open/close door sensor not working. Fortunately I have a handy husband and he was able to replace it. I miss my old Kenmore; it never had any of those problems and worked as expected. Stay away from Whirlpool, they have really gone down the toilet quality-wise these past few years. I will never buy another one of their appliances.

Works fine

The range was relatively easy to install. We had an issue because the exhaust did not line up with the duct in my kitchen. I like the double deck design. We had it for about 2 weeks. We are extremely happy with the product.

This is a nice looking and very functional microwave. I find that when vented outdoors, it doesn't pull much air. Also, it seems a problem with switches or fuses are fairly common, that makes the microwave think it's door is not closed. So it doesn't work. 1and 1/2 years old.

This microwave was installed less than a year ago and I'm already getting the "door" error that other reviews mention. How disappointing! At least I am within the one year warranty.

I am very disappointed with this microwave. I bought this model microwave back in May 2016 in the stainless steel. It seemed to be a very sturdy model that had a lot of nice features. However, just a few months past the warranty expiring, the microwave stopped heating food. Every other feature seemed to be working. The microwave turned on like it was working, so it was a surprise to pull out the food and find nothing had heated. I had a repairman come out to look it over and he determined the magnetron had to be replaced, which is probably one of the most expensive parts. With the cost of the labor and part, it cost me a little more than if I had purchased a new microwave. Now, just yesterday, the microwave stopped heating again. I can't believe I have to deal with this again. I'll be purchasing a new microwave this time, but will definitely not buy another Whirlpool.

We purchased our unit in Fall of 2013 and within a year we noticed there were occasionally problems with the sensors; occasionally when you would open the door the lights would flicker and even rarer still, they wouldn't turn on at all. I'd close and re-open the door several times to try to get it to register, because if it doesn't you are unable to heat anything in it. The sensor issue increased with the passage of time, but because it was outside of the 1 year warranty, Whirlpool refused to do anything about it, instead advising that I pay $70-140 for a service professional to come out and inspect it. The biggest problem with the sensor issue in this unit is that normally, if you open the door mid-heating cycle, the microwave will automatically turn off but once I opened the door AND IT CONTINUED TO EMIT MICROWAVES - the cycle stayed on!!!. Needless to say, on the occasion that the microwave is actually working and we are heating something up in it, we NEVER open the door mid cycle and instead hit the cancel button, which blessedly works. You would think Whirlpool would care about their reputation for making high-quality electrical products. A flaw in the construction or design of a product can appear if quality of materials is poor and the problem can be exacerbated over time. Which is why I assume the warranty is only for one year. High Quality Products and Good Customer Service are such rare things these days. For our next microwave (which I imagine we'll need soon) I think we'll forego Whirlpool and go with a different company.

I purchased this microwave November 2016. January 2018 the night light went out. One week later the microwave stopped working. DO NOT BUY!

Very nice microwave. I love how the fan/vent turns on by itself when it senses that the range is on and something is cooking.

It's MUCH easier to keep clean compared to my older one. I recently discovered additional settings too for all kinds of alarms and features-nice extra!

When you are using the oven (the MW is overhead) there is a sensor that triggers the fan and you cannot manually stop it prob until it senses a lessening of the temperature. This is no doubt a safety feature but my prior Whirlpool of 17 years didn’t do that...I want that one back, just kidding.

Replaced a 20 yr old microwave with this one. No hard copy user guide, but the info on the panel is fairly self explanatory. Some of the reheat options seem to take longer than expected. Overall, happy with the purchase.

Replaced the one we had, perfectly, just used the brackets already installed
