If I could give this product 0 stars I would, don't waste your money. Didn't work right out of the package. 30 miles to the store (twice!) over this. I figure they owe me $100.00 for my time wasted plus gas. I read the reviews after the fact and see I'm not alone. Home Depot should read reviews and not sell junk but I guess they do. I'll be going to their competitor from here on out.

It simply did not work. I installed it on the ceiling where I needed the motion sensor. It does not trigger the light when I walk underneath or around. I waved, jumped, danced, still no reaction. I walked away for a while. Half hour later when I looking back at it, to my surprise, the light turned on! This thing is totally useless to me.

It wouldn't even come on.

Does not work as advertised. Placed it about 8 feet up but when I walk under it wont light up

Once you screw the fixture into the socket one can not adjust the angle. You can adjust it up & down but not side to side. If we did not have 2 sockets in our garage the product would not have met our needs. The positive is that we were able to adjust the duration of the light being on which is why we bought the product in the first place.

The motion sensor was not consistent, would activate at different distances and usually not soon enough. Adjustable off times was a nice feature, big range of options. I returned and purchased a bulb with sensor built into light bulb so only had to screw bulb into socket.

i needed a motion sensor so people don't turn on the lights overnight. I tested 2 Defiant models from Home Depot, and they failed. Somehow, Defiant models turn on for no reason in the daytime. I got this even though it is an online order, as a last attempt before declaring failure. It works. At least, I know that when I get close to it, it turns on. I also know that it turns off. Occasionally, i find the lights on, but it could be someone passing by, or something triggering it. Well, it is better than having the light on over night.

Works great, installing easy as screwing in a lightbulb !!

Works great...easy to install and adjust the eye. It has pretty wide angle of detection. Ovetall, I'm very satisfied and the price is very reasonable. I'm purchasing another for the front porch.

I liked product but would like a little more range adjustment.

I was really looking forward to this. When I put it in it didn't work. That was disappointing. I will return it and try again though.

Good value. Works as described. Ad copy does not describe range, and especially distance, of coverage area in which motion will be detected. I would have preferred greater distance and range. Also light bulb seems to be partially in the way of the motion detector. Purchasers will find good value for the money but should carefully consider the above limitations in application in their homes.

easy to install --- works great !!! much easier then trying to reinstall a single unit - lower cost also !

almost get what I expected thought the detection distance is kind of short.. I had to add extra words because "Please complete the following required field(s): •Your review text is too short." I had to reduce the rating because of this.

I thought the range of motion sensing would be wider

My fixture is positioned with the screw in part straight down. That needs to angle out so the sensor is in a proper position. I didn't notice that when I ordered it, so had to return

Great product. Works exactly as it claims. I use an LED bulb with it and it gives a nice bright light. Good price. Good value.

The sensor works great - detects motion in the hallway very easily.

Always looking for home improvement & security items. This was an inexpensive security item.

I bought this for my daughter who just moved out and needed a motion sensor light as her doorway is very dark and she didn't want to leave the outside light on all the time. She is renting her home and so we needed something we didn't have to attach to a wall and do any wiring for. So this has worked out great for her.

We used this to replace a pull chain fixture in our pantry and the previous remote controlled fixture. The remote was difficult to use to turn the light off and finally quit altogether. We tried another motion control that you had to do a dance or wave a broom in front of in order to turn it on. It only stayed on for ten minutes and then you had to do it all again. This one can stay on up to 20 minutes and turns on flawlessly.
