This fuel is the perfect solution for all 4 cycle yard tools. Long lasting, and doesn't absorb water like ethanol fuels so it won't gum up carburetor..

Two of the cans were leaking fuel.

This is the best fuel for small engines, period!Easier starting and cleaner burning than pump gas and of course void of EVIL ethanol, it has become my fuel of choice for all my small 2&4 stroke engines. You can't go wrong with VP!

Great for my lawnmower

Over the past year or so I became concerned about my small engine lawn equipment and the effect of regular gas station ethanol gas. So, even though it is quite expensive by comparison, I tried a few cans and then got this entire case. Everything running fine. Will be able to tell more at next maintenance cycle or with any left over gas on starting ability. Thanks.

Good stuff, but too expensive

I have been using this fuel in a small 2.5 HP outboard motor. Works incredibly well. I'm planning on running it in my two Honda generators next week on a sailing trip from South FLA to South Carolina. Easy to store, Easy to pour..

Burns clean. engine starts with one pull. Love it. Use it in all my Honda engines. Use the 50:1 premix in my two cycle string trimmer.

The only fuel to use for 4 cycle small engine equipment. Took lawn mower to repair shop annually using gas with additives or cleaners ... haven’t since switching. Won’t use anything else.

VP Ethanol free fuel is a blessing. My leaf blower,edger,power washer,lawnmower and generator all start much easier using this fuel. Without ethanol to foul the carbs winter storage is problem free.Cost is high but better than the cost of repairs and the aggravation of having a power tool not start when you need it.

I use both the 4-cycle and 2-stoke premix versions in my equipment and it really does work great. I use the premix in my string trimmer and leaf blower and it takes no more than 2 pulls to fire over. I can leave them sit and idle for as long as I want then grab as much throttle as I want and they respond nice and crisp and no smokey build up, 2 stroke stuff runs great on it. My 4 stroke stuff I just use fresh as I can pump gas {has ethanol} mixed heavy with sea foam, I will use the vp product when I am storing the equipment over winter/summer depending on what it is. I drain out the crummy gas and then fill half way with vp then run engine so carb has burned up the junk fuel and is full with vp. Come next season everything fires right up, great stuff. I would buy more but, at 20 bucks a gallon running my 23 hp zero turn would make me broke in a hurry!

I have a three year old lawn mower that I was told would last two seasons due to the carb getting clogged. I tried fuel additives but the mower had a tough time running let alone smoothly. I ran some Amsoil foaming cleaner through the carb and intake which helped but the mower still ran a bit rough. I drained the gas and added the VP fuel which I had used to fix a non functioning snow blower and the mower smoothed out almost immediately. To make sure the carb gets cleaned without having to take it apart I added some Sea Foam to the gas. After about a month the mower is running better than the last two seasons and I would almost be willing to say better than brand new with 10% ethanol from the gas station. About half a quart fills the tank which is enough to get my yard done once. At that rate I think it is worth using only VP fuel in my mower. A case should last almost the whole summer. I also add this to my motorcycle before storing for the winter which seems to work well. I agree with other posts that the Home Depot online sales is helping to drive the price down. The first time I ever purchased VP it was about $10/quart. This go around will be under $50 for the case which is a substantial drop in price.

I use the no-oil version of this in my Honda Generator when it's not used continually, and the 50:1 version in my trimmer and leaf blower. THIS IS GREAT STUFF! It lasts for years in the can and several seasons in the tank without degrading, and is the correct octane for small engines. Modern ethanol-laced pump gas often goes stale in as little as 8 weeks, and we don't know how long it's been in the station's tanks. Read reviews of small power equipment... The number of one and two star reviews that state "Ran great for 90 days..." or "Ran great for one season..." are staggering on equipment that often also gets lots of great reviews. I always wonder how many of the folks who get poor results have any clue about how important good fuel is to dependability and longevity of power equipment, as well as how many of them even bother to buy the correct octane rating. Today, 4/23/14, I started my 4-5 year old string trimmer that's been in the shed since October, with the 50:1 blend of this fuel in the tank... Choke on, a few pumps of the primer bulb, and it started and ran like a top with only TWO pulls. This stuff just works.

I have been using VP small engine fuel for about 4 years now. I was very happy to see Home Depot selling the product online, as there are not a lot of local dealers that sell it. I own a landscape construction company, and have lots of 2-cycle and 4-cycle equipment. Everything I put the fuel in immediately runs smoother, and starts easier. Even tools and equipment that sit for 6+ months start up with half a pull, and barely need to be choked. I have not had to make any fuel related repairs on the equipment that runs on the VP fuel. The only downside is the cost. The high price makes it too expensive for daily use. I find it is best used for seasonal storage, and for equipment that sits for long periods of time without being used.

Ethanol free fuel is better for lawn equipment that pump gas. Now that it can be obtained from Home Depot the price is going down.

It looks like this is going to be a great product based on the packaging. The fuel cans are easy to handle and easy to open. I haven't been able to determine the shelf life of this product but being that it is ethanol free there shouldn't be any issues. Overall, it should be a great product! Now if they could get the product a little more affordable....the case equates to 2 gallons for $40+.

Since switching to VP Racing Small Engine Fuel, my two lawn mowers, tiller, generator, and snowblower are all running considerably smoother. Knowing VP SEF is not harming my equipment like fuels containing ethanol is an important characteristic of this fuel; especially when prepping equipment for off-season storage. My only complaint with VP SEF is the price, which is on the expensive side. Otherwise, I'm extremely pleased with the product.
