VELUX shades and blinds are proprietary to VELUX skylights. You will not need the dimension of the skylight, as this system is built around the actual VELUX model or size code. (example: FS C06, VS S06 etc..) If you have a question about choosing a shade for your old or new VELUX skylight, please contact us directly for assistance.

I bought one of the motorized skylight shades and it worked great for a week. Then it started to hang up and when the shade was moving and the motorized gears were slipping and making a horrible noise. I took the unit down and tried to see if I could see anything wrong or if something got into the gears. I could not find anything wrong and then installed the unit again, but the shade still hung up and the gears made noise again. Velux appears to be a good manufacturer and my motorized skylight has been working fine.

I am so angry. The second time the blind was used the ring broke off. The ring at the bottom of the blind is designed to receive the pole/hook to raise and lower the blind. Who designed this poorly engineered ring. The ring is simply crimped or compression fitted to the metal edge of the blind. The ring is broken off and I have no idea how it can be repaired. The blind and rod cost as much as the entire skylight with flashing kit.
