I've always been apprehensive about having skylights installed. But Velux stated that the best guarantee is the one you never have to use, therefore, they built quality into every product. This was a reassuring statement. So on April 11, 2020, after a hail storm, my roof was replaced as well as the skylight. There were no problems until 12" of ice and snow started to melt. Then a wet spot started to appear on the plasterboard ceiling of the garage beneath the window. I called the roofer to inspect the problem and he claimed that the size of a metal piece around the window wasn't an adequate size to keep the Velux window from leaking water. I've attached a photo of the ceiling. I'm not at all happy with this product.

Installed with new roof. Seems to work well, nice quality. Did not come with hand crank.

Bought this with the Intention of replacing an existing bubble skylight. The removal took longer than the install did. Very happy with the layers of weather proofing besides the fact it’s so much more efficient than my old one.

I installed DIY, very sturdy, good-looking, easy to use. You can find how-to-install videos on youtube that are very helpful.

I installed a Velux Skylight Mod# VS-6, Ventilating, manual operating with a 22"x 39",rough opening. in 1992. It has never leaked an remains operational to this day.

I had a new roof installed and had an existing Velux skylight that was 18 years old. Never had any issues with it. Decided to upgrade to newer technology and Warranty. Me unit installed is deck mounted fresh air manually operated. Installers had no issues with install. New sky light fit existing opening like a glove. Looks great and works great. New no leak flashing technology is a welcome and major upgrade from the older style. Even though the older unit never leaked, being 18 years old. Was a great decision to upgrade and well worth the price! Well done Velux.

The crank mechanism no longer works correctly, is this something that can be easily fixed, or do I need to replace the entire unit?

The VS C06 replaced a previous 25 year old Velux skylight. Like the white frame much better than the previous stained wood. Opening operation is very good and will be enjoying this skylight as much as the previous one .

Replaced our original 30-year-old FS deck-mounted skylights with new VS Low-E units that vent and we couldn't be happier.

Had roof replaced last fall and had our old velux skylights replaced at the recommendation of the contractor. They weren’t leaking but he said they should be replaced. We replaced with m08 2004d and they look great! Loved them until we had to clean the outside glass. Our old skylights had the option to flip them around so we could clean the outside glass but these appear to only be able to cleaned by way of ladder. Very unfortunate, any recommendations?

I had replaced 2 of my skylights years ago and I really enjoyed these products for maximum lighting and fresh air. But over theirs of used and normal cleaning. I have came across the pins that held the screens in place have broken off. Is there any replacement part for it because there is no longer any kind of knob to grab and pull those pins out of the hole to remove for cleaning. Any suggestions or part replacements?

Our original 35 year old Velux VS skylight was getting weathered after all those Boston area winters but still worked fine . Very good product. New skylight fit excellent into old opening and looks great. Bought a solar shade to go with it . Works perfect .

Nice product on day one, but wait for one year to pass. After the batteries for the wireless remote die and you need to pair the skylight again you’ll be searching for the instructions for a long time - they are not readily available online.

These were in our house when we moved in, in 1994. Have performed flawlessly. But is there a way to clean the outside of the windows from the inside? Can they be easily released to open all the way so I can clean them? They are located 30+ feet from the ground and the hose with detergent doesn't do the job.

Put a Velux skylight in the bathroom when we built the house 24 years ago.Happy with the fresh air when open.Had no problems with unit at all.Good product

I have 2 big skylights in my new home, and I'm unable to turn the plastic hooks to open them up. What am I doing wrong?

Needed to replace an older version of the same model. Disappointed that the sun shades won't fit. Easy installation. Looks great.

These windows are first class and added so much light to our room. The quality is very high and would most definitely order these windows again.

I am a residential architect and recently replaced my 1996 VS S06 skylight over my bed due to hail damage. I left the wood jambs in place and the new one kissed down nicely. I chose the white sash since natural wood takes a hit in MN. Rep got me to upgrade to a Solar Blind which now works GREAT. The remote control sits next to my bed and is programmed to open+close whenever I want it to. Velux is the only skylight I design into houses. The Solar Tax Credits make the cost of the Solar Blind actually cheaper than Manual Blind!

We have installed a lot of these units and have never had to go back for a leak or any dissatisfaction from a customer . I personally believe they're one of the top units that you can buy

Windows were fine. Problem was they gave us the wrong installation kits. Fortunately we discovered this before opening the boxes. BE SURE to check that your installation kits match your windows.

I just had these installed and am thrilled with the products thus far. I had an issue with my remote for the blinds and a quick call to Technical Assistance resolved the issue withing a few minutes, working with a very pleasant technician.

I have never installed a skylight before. My contractor asked me to look into Velux. The installation went great , the product looks great, I have had several downpours and no leaks, very happy.

Roofer had no trouble putting these in except you have to use Velux installation kit in order to have a Ten (10) year no-leak guarantee with Velux. Roofer had to charge me a little more because the installation kit is very time consuming and very specific in order to have the guarantee.
