The selection of colors was the key for me. Other products like polymers come in one color, limits the possibilities of bringing your project to the next level. I found that you have no option than to use the Nano Pave Joint and Stabilizer & Sealer because the joint sand is to light and blows away with the first strong wind.

The color does not come close to the pictures on-line. The mix is very light (almost white) with a tinge of pink coloring. So I recommend looking at an actual sample of the product before buying.

Restored a brick paver patio with NanoPave JSS & UltraMix Sand
I had a small brick paver patio that was looking pretty bad because of moss build up and staining from oak leaves. I used a pressure washer to clean the bricks off and blow most of the old polymeric sand out of the joints. After letting it dry out for a day, I used two different colors of UltraMix Paver Joint Sand to match the interior brick paver color and the perimeter block color. One of the colors was Brick Red and the other was Charcoal Plum. I used the red exclusively in the interior area and then blended the red with the charcoal plum on the outside edges - it looks really cool! Applying NanoPave JSS was pretty straightforward, I used a 1-gallon pump sprayer but I also bought a foam rubber squeegee to even the liquid out on the surface. If you spray the JSS liquid on evenly (almost like painting with a spray can), it goes on in decent time. Some of my joints were between a 1/4" and 1/2" on average so I applied at roughly 80 square feet per gallon. It did seem like I needed to focus the spray into the joints at times too once they started to drink up the liquid. The squeegee is probably the easiest part because it helped spread the liquid evenly where I accidentally over applied. Aside from the pressure washing, the whole project took me about 4 hours and the end result looked fantastic. The gloss finish is notable, but not like a wet look, and the UltraMix Sand looks beautiful compared to the ugly grey polymeric sand I had in there before. All in all, good product and easy to use. The sand is a little expensive, but everything together was less than a dollar per square foot to do it myself.

Beach Sand
This is nothing but a $37 Bag of Beach Sand. Followed directions to a tee. A good rain washes it all away. Do Not Waste Your Money. I should have heeded the Review before me.

UltraMix Paver Joint Sand is not a polymeric sand, although it can be used in dry set hardscape joint scenario. UltraMix is commonly used with NanoPave 2-in-1 Joint Stabilizer & Sealer (JSS) to solidify hardscape joints (as listed in the product description). OK
First of all the product is overpriced for what it does. it is just fine sand. However, I knew this before the purchase. The only reason I bought this is because it says it is red in color. After spreading on my pavers it mostly looks like regular sand with a very slight red tinge to it. Disappointed.

UltraMix Paver Joint Sand goes through a proprietary natural color infusion process during manufacturing that makes it perfect for use with today's many vibrant and colorful hardscaping products. UltraMix is a specific gradation of sand that meets and exceeds joint material standards yet maintains a natural look for optimal finish. Common joint sands are normally available in only 1-2 colors and can appear mismatched creating an unpleasant aesthetic.
