Beautiful but that’s it
I searched high and low for the perfect pattern for my new floor. Worked with a contractor to pick and all of the durability ratings matched our home with kids and pets. Unfortunately this product didn’t even hold up through installation. On day 1 I began to notice scuffs and knicks all the way down to the gray backing JUST during installation traffic. Within the first few days, several planks popped along the edge, gaps opened up between planks and top began peeling on cut pieces. Very frustrated with the poor quality of this product! Contractor said he contacted the company for advice and was directed to a “paint/patch kit” to fill in gaps and knicks. Floor is less than a year old and looks like we have lived with it for 20 years. Don’t waste your money despite the unique and beautiful pattern.

not the same floor as pictured
The color is NOT EVEN CLOSE and when I talked to home depot customer service they were very nice and gave me the number for the company that makes the floor. The lady that I talked to from there was very rude and basically told me that I shouldnt trust the pictures. TO HOME DEPOT: CHANGE THE PICTURE. The flooring that I got has absolutely no grey in it at all and is brown instead of tan

This product came highly recommended from a friend of mine who uses it in his rental properties. We started laying it yesterday, it actually is pretty easy to install once you get the hang of it which only takes putting a few pieces together. Be sure to align the corner and the short end first and then push against the already installed floor to get a tight joint on the long side while holding the piece you're installing at an angle so glue strip doesn't adhere before you want it to. Picked this color mostly because it was on sale but once we got some on the floor, I really like it. From what I've read, be sure to go over with 100lb floor roller to make sure the glue joints adhere correctly. We'll see how it holds up but based on recommendation from my friend and the majority of the reviews on this flooring, I'm anticipating it lasting for a good amount of time.

One of the most realistic looking vinyl floors out there. The grain looks real, I fooled my cousin because at first glance, looks like real wood. Awesome value. We've had ours installed on our stairs and a landing and it still looks just as beautiful as the day we put it in. Wish that they made this same wood grain in more colors.

For the money this is a great product. Purchased Autumn Oak online, it looks very real and color quality held true for all 5 boxes. The key to installing Allure Grip Strip is let the product acclimate to your home temp at least 3 days. Very important - work clean. I vacuum constantly while installing so no dirt or dust gets on the grip strip. I chose this product because floors are not perfectly flat and beyond tolerance of click & lock products. Allure Grip Strip is forgiving and flows with and hugs the floor and looks great. There was a huge downside. I special ordered Autumn Oak online, every box had damaged planks. I did not know it till I got to the bottom of each box. The grip strips were cracked at the seam where it is attached to the plank. Some were cracked at the bottom of the plank as if the box were dropped on end, other planks were cracked along the long edge. Took careful planning to use in a place where damaged edge would be cut off. Was not always possible so taped the edge on some planks. I did not have the cracked plank problem with Allure I purchased at the store that was in stock. During transit the boxes must get thrown around. You need to order an additional box to cover damaged goods. Also, I find Home Depot's product estimator is too tight an estimate. I would pad it out by a box.

This review is to pay it forward, because many other reviews helped me select this product. I went with vinyl plank because I installed it in a kitchen, where water is a potential issue. Laminate did not make sense for a kitchen. The big decision point was the locking type of planks vs the adhesive. With this product, it is a 'grip strip' system, which the adhesive bonds are at the edges of the planks and not the entire board. The reason I decided on the grip strip was because vinyl planks are generally much thinner than laminate boards. I was concerned that the locking channels on the planks might not be deep enough to maintain the interlocking strength. I looked at many locking vinyl planks, and just felt it was not robust enough. The adhesive option seemed better. In the event that a board might lift over time, some liquid nails or gorilla glue will surely remedy the situation. I'm not expecting any issues, but at least I have a contingency. The adhesive bonds are very strong once you put it down. I did not use a roller, but tamped down with a rubber mallet, and walked the seams. No way those seams could be any tighter. If you go slowly and make sure your seams meet flush, you will not see any seams unless you get down on your knees and really search for them. The floor is absolutely beautiful looking. No worries about aesthetics. Here is the big issue. Despite the claim that this is likely the 'easiest' floor you might install yourself, it is still hard work. You will be on your knees, in awkward positions, and for many hours. Think hard if you want to do that. You might want to hire someone to install this for you if that doesn't seem like something you are keen about. The tag line about easiest install is comparative, but not absolute. I would not say this is easy to install unless you might compare this to laminate or hardwood floors. It's easier for sure, but don't think it's a cakewalk necessarily. Think carefully if you want to do this. Perhaps first do one small room before deciding on a big area. Even though they tell you only a utility knife is needed to cut the boards, I would still advise a guillotine type cutter like those used with laminate. The reason is simply that you will make straight cuts that are very clean, without a lot of fussing. If you use a utility knife, make sure to also have a square to help you get a very straight line. However, cuts with a knife scores the top vinyl layer, and then you break the board apart; these are not clean cuts. Sometimes you might want to use pieces of boards for irregular room nuances, and having clean cuts like from the factory will be a godsend. It will make the job easier, and you will likely waste less material. Further, you might be an eighth of an inch or so off in your measuring, and trimming off a tiny amount with the knife is maddening, and very difficult to cut clean and straight. Plus, working with that knife can be a little bit dangerous if you are not super careful. Carpenters rule; always measure twice, and cut only once. What this means is please go slowly if you are new at this. There is always the desire to just get it done, but the devil is in the details. You want to get those seams tight, and also carefully consider all of the geometry in your room. If your room is perfectly square, as you will notice most of the instructions assume, measuring and cutting is much more simplistic. If you have irregular dimensions, such as in and around a kitchen, you really have to plan this out carefully. Nothing worse than laying a bunch of boards, and coming up in a jam where you just didn't consider all of the implications. No surprise is a good surprise. They tell you that you can pull the boards apart once they are initially joined, but careful with this. You might be able to do it one time if you do it very quickly. As you do that, some of the adhesive will pull off, so there might be a consequence down the line. Just try and get things right the first time when you join boards. An occasional pull up isn't curtains if done immediately, but within several minutes, becomes much more of an issue. Here is something to consider. If you have any minor imperfections in your measuring, have unsightly gaps anywhere, such as around your trim/molding/walls, or even a misaligned seam, don't fret. I made a couple of boo-boos, and fixed them up using Elmer's wood filler. I did not want to pull up existing boards, so I covered up my sins using the wood filler. No one would ever be the wiser! In the end, this is a very cost effective solution that will look very nice in any home. I expect it to be durable and reasonably lasting. I am very happy with the new kitchen floor given the low cost for a complete makeover. I did not know whether to give this a 4 or 5 star rating, given that I don't know how the floor will perform over time. For now, I'll say 5, and will update in the future only if necessary. I hope that this review will help others. Happy Flooring.

            Very good and easy install
The installation was easy and the only tool required were a straight edge, measuring tape and a sharp knife. I did rent a roller (16$/day) to complete the job but not required. The prep work took longer than the installation. Very easy install.

We love our new Allure flooring!!
We first laid Allure flooring in my sister's linai and loved it, so two years later, we installed it in our bathroom remodel and laid it down over ceramic tile that was 40 yrs old. The tile was in excellent shape with no broken areas....we just did not want the major hassel of ripping it out (we are 70 & 68 yrs. young) and it turned out beautifully. We installed it in our office after ripping up the carpet and the job was a breeze and turned out beautifully again. The following week, we laid the same flooring in my brother & sister-in-law's sun porch and again, they were thrilled with the results. We recommended the flooring to our neighbor and he put it down in a rental throughout the house. Need I say more?? We have three dogs and if I had known about the Allure flooring BEFORE we had laminate flooring installed, we would have put it down throughout our home.

            Easy install, looks great!
This flooring went directly over a particle board subfloor. The room previously had carpet installed, and had been a complete mess for years. The carpet was moth-eaten and pet stained for an extended period of time, and the room had a moisture problem. I cleared out the room, cut out the carpet, cleaned the subfloor, and screwed down a couple of squeaky floorboards. The floor was level, so I put a coat of flat wall paint down to help seal off any odors. I put these planks down directly on the painted particleboard. The room was about 12x13', and it took me about four hours, including the closet. The floor looks great, hasn't had any problems since I installed it (in May, 2014), and has been very easy to clean.

More affordable then refinishing original hardwood floor and looks nicer.
Dealing with 75 year old ruined hardwood floors which were covered with old nasty wall to wall carpeting, we had to decide between chemical dustless refinishing, expensive sanded refinishing or new carpeting. Have installed the Trafficmaster Allure vinyl plank flooring over the past 4 years in two kitchens and two bathrooms we decided to go with the Allure. My husband installed this flooring by himself in our living room and dining room in Autumn Oak. Once the first row is down the rest is an easy install. For under $500 we have beautiful flooring that didn't involve sanding and the dust and dirt, staining or multiple coats of polyurethane. We feel we made the perfect choice and are delighted with the results.

            SEE IT-LOVE IT-INSTALL IT!
We installed ALLURE plank in our kitchen and bath about three years ago. It has held up impeccably against moisture, dirt and our 4 dogs. As for negative reviews that I have read...We did not experience odor problems or decline in the surface appearance. Ours is installed upstairs in a mainly climate controlled environment. It will scratch -like pretty much any wood floor. Clean it with a mop and mild cleaner. We are now preparing to update another property in VA and will definitely be using again in the kitchen and bath! Everyone who sees it thinks it is real wood!

            Looked great for awhile, but.....
We purchased this for our kitchen back in 2009. It looked great for the past 4 years until I discovered a problem a couple months ago. We've had a floor mat in front of our slider door to our deck each of the winters since we put it down. Never had any problems until this year. When I moved the mat to clean I discovered bubbling on the top of the flooring. Pretty much the entire rectangular area of the mat. It looks like it has blisters all over it. Apparently the water from wet shoes on the mat got the best of it. I was so disappointed. Fortunately I have some leftover that I saved, so I'm hoping that maybe I can replace the area that's bubbled without it being too much of a problem (but I doubt it). In the meantime, I guess we keep a floor mat in that spot to cover it. Other than that, and a few nicks on the floor where heavy items have gotten dropped, I absolutely loved this flooring! On a side note, the area where the dogs water dish sits, still looks great...the dogs slop water all the time...go figure...

            Easy install, great look
I have installled 4-5 laminate floors in the past few years. They are a great option for do it yourself. This floor floor is different. You can install this with a razor and a measuring tape, You do not need table saws, jig saws, or wood dust. This product does not need an underlayment which can run 25 to 50 cents a square foot. This will also save additional install time. It will resist water better than the wood laminates. The grip strip will seem a little awkward at first, but you will quickly learn to work with it and find it easier than snapping many laminates together. To make the cuts all you do is score the product and snap it apart. It also looks more natural than many laminates.

            Regretted the purchase
DO NOT INSTALL THIS IN A HOUSE THAT THE TEMPERATURE FALLS BELOW 65 DEGREES. I have been a professional flooring contractor for 30 years, but these floor are less familiar to me, whilst I have installed them in year round homes without problems before. This install was for my vacation home, which I keep at 50 degrees in the winter. I installed 500 sq ft of this in my house in two separate occasions. I installed 325 sq ft one day and a few months later, due to temperature restrictions, I installed the remaining in a different section. Prior to installing the second portion, I had covered the first install to keep it clean. When I removed the paper, I noticed inconsistent gaps throughout the floor, some large enough to collect debris. I thought that I had not rolled the floor sufficiently following the installation and attributed it to my error. Learning from "my mistake", when I installed the second section, I made sure that the floor was rolled for over an hour, firmly seating the adhesive strips to each other. Sadly, when I returned to uncover this floor a few months later, I found the same results.
